Dude. It's Assassin's Creed. This thing has been hyped and anticipated like forever. It will get at least 8/10 just on that, and that's assuming it's nothing more than a big steaming pile of shit in the box. If it's an even remotely passable game, the odds are it will score no lower than a 9.

I guess there's a hidden message in that.

I dunno, only three games on that list. How time consuming could it possibly be?

Well I'll be playing Halo 3 as much as humanly possible. Mass Effect is the game I've been waiting for more than any of the games. KotoR 1 and 2 were some of my favorite RPGs of all time, so I eat up Bioware games like candy. That and the sheer size of the game is going to take most likely several hundred hours to complete, and I plan on doing as much of it as possible.

Assassin's Creed is just a fun game period, by the looks of it. It will likely be played whenever I just don't feel like playing the others.

I should also mention that those aren't the only 3 games I'll be playing, but just the three that everyone really knows about. The 4th is EVE Online, which is an MMO and already takes up a lot of my time, and will take up even more once I get farther into it.

How have you heard that? Pretty sure nobody has played it, and ubisoft isn't usually known for clunky controls. It reminds me of Splinter Cell just watching the videos, and Splinter Cell had great movement. I really doubt they would have a problem at all making great stealth-type games.

I read that. They got this game branded as the "game we're most worried about." When they played it the first time they wern't that impressed. Then Ubisoft send them over an updated version and it only got a little bit better. Like I said in the magazine thread that got made. I can't wait to read their review to see how much flak they're gonna get from the gaming community.

But enough of that. This game is getting pretty much equal or less hype than Halo 3. Lots of good commercials out and getting sponsored here and there. I won't be picking this up till thursday night unfortunately.

Can you successfully hide or will they pretty much find you no matter what so you'd have to kill them all?

Requiem
11-15-2007, 07:03 AM
Yes, you can hide. That's the purpose of the escapes.. you'll likely have to fight a little, but as demonstrated in several videos you can hide. You have to first break the line of sight, and then manage to keep out of view for a while. Hence the hay carts or rooftop hideaways.

Pity I'm only only play this for a few days until Mass Effect arrives.

On the side. Has anybody experienced any game freezing? Not like stuff Ubisoft put in. But it happened to me twice. Once during a loading screen, and another when I wanted to to save a citizen. I got the PS3 version and I didn't think this would happen.

Requiem
11-18-2007, 11:35 AM
Beat this game yesterday. Only encountered one glitch the whole time I played it, and it was a pretty big one. Spoilers in black:

After you find out the last assassination is a decoy, you go to the new area through the kingdom. Well the new area was completely fucked for me. People wouldn't attack me, and I just ran through it until I fell through the world. THEN, I respawned at the beginning and there was two of me that moved in sync. Really fucking annoying because if one took damage I took damage. But some things wouldn't spawn unless they were both there. I had to run to the end, run back toward the beginning and -then- things would attack me. Finally did the last fight after a ton of trying to figure out wtf I was doing, and then the other one of me disappeared.

So yeah not sure what that was about, but it pissed me off. Kinda killed that portion of the immersion for me because I didn't really know wtf was going on through the whole level. Thought it might have even been on purpose, that it was just something wrong with the machine.

Yeah. In the beginning of the game, you're character is a badass......asshole. Then you get in trouble by letting your ego the best of you, which results in a botched mission. However, the game in general is your redemption. You gotta get everything back as you play.

Assassin's Creed Confirmed For DS

Join the Crusades in February. First screens!

Assassin's Creed is coming to DS in February. Yes, Assassin's Creed Altair's Chronicles will be on Nintendo's handheld next month and is a prequel to the events in the number one historical action game which was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 before Christmas.

In Assassin's Creed Altair's Chronicles, players will discover more about the protagonist Altair and his deep history. The game features a fully realized 3D world in which players will travel and battle through four cities of the Crusade’s Middle East, using acrobatic moves and exhilarating combo attacks that mix sword skills and high-flying kicks.

Of course Altair Ibn La-Ahad is the star of the console game and a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. In the original he had to kill nine historical characters during the Third Crusade in 1191. The action took place in Jerusalem, Damascus, Acre and Masyaf just after Richard The Lionheart captured Acre. This new game will go back to a time before then and once again you'll be moving and fighting between cities.

Assassin's Creed is a great-looking game and from these screens it looks as if the gameplay will be quite similar with Altair using his stealth skills to kill his targets.
