I've played and quite enjoyed all 4 of the pc versions, so I'll probably try this

I see that Ubisoft whiped this up. You might get your money's worth.

Ubisoft did the last four CSI games. The game series has been running for a while now.

You can also find the 3rd game on the DS and PS2 along with the first two games on the Orginal Xbox...

I have the first two PC Games and also have them on my xbox...I love both games. The only thing that has stopped me from picking this game up is my 360 has Red Ring Syndrome right now...

But when I get it back I will probably pick this one up.

Dude pick up 3 dimensions of murder too. It gives you a lot more freedom than the previous 3. I'm assuming this will be the same, but improved.

What genre is it? Graphic adventure? FPS? RPG?

Lord-Of-Darkness
09-30-2007, 02:20 PM
Its basically a point and click investigation/adventure game, with a forensic twist.

Disturbed316
09-30-2007, 02:24 PM
Ooooooh interesting, hopefully a demo will come out.

Lord-Of-Darkness
09-30-2007, 02:31 PM
Yeah you should try the Three Dimensions too, the stories usually aren't that bad either, so it gets interesting

Each game has 5 cases, the final case usually ends up with characters from the previous 4 tying together.

I'm disappointed that you get points for any rank, because you get a lower rank when you ask the other CSI for hints when you're stuck. So in that respect it seems pointless. You'd think it'd be an incentive to do it on your own.

Disturbed316
09-30-2007, 07:16 PM
True, you could probably just ask them for everything.

Lord-Of-Darkness
09-30-2007, 07:44 PM
Exactly, you get like a 'rookie' ranking or something and still get all your points. Bit pointless in that respect. Not that it matters, I'm still getting it.

What have the other games got, review wise? Good? Bad? Average?

Lord-Of-Darkness
09-30-2007, 07:59 PM
I believe IGN and the like gave them just above average scores. With 3 dimensions being better again. But I rarely base my purchases on reviews, just what grabs my attention.

I'm a fan of adventure and point and clickery and will play a wide range of that genre, and these games I really enjoyed because I guess the forensic aspect is original and it keeps you thinking. Take that for what its worth.

Just checked the reviews. IGN gave the 1st two 8.2, and Miami 6(I prefer the Vegas cast anyway, and all 4 other games are Vegas). And 3 Dimensions got 8.6, which is also my favorite because it allows you to explore more freely than previous games. Which like I said before, I should imagine will be continued in this game.

I remember seeing the first Miami game at a local store for like $4.

Lord-Of-Darkness
09-30-2007, 08:28 PM
Yeah I bought all four on ebay recently for £15 as I sold my old ones a while back. I fancied trying the new one, and ended up getting all 4 for a price less than stores are selling 3DM on its own :y:

Surprised KK hasn't posted in here.

Hmmm might pick this up then, I'm looking for something abit different at the moment. Haven't played a point and click game since the third Broken Sword came.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-01-2007, 08:46 AM
Yeah, they're very few and far between now. I picked up Broken Sword 4, but I've got to wait for my new GFX card next week

Disturbed316
10-01-2007, 09:01 AM
My PC is abit shit for games, so haven't played anything like that for ages even though I loved those games.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-01-2007, 10:17 AM
Yeah I miss those kind of games. Still, from time to time I'll put in Monkey Island, Discworld Noir, Grim Fandango or The Broken Sword series, to name a few. Good times :'(

Traded in a couple of games and picked this up along with NBA 2K8.

Liked it, but not worth 40 bucks I'm afraid, 30 would have been about right. Very involving tho, played for over an hour and still on the first case.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-03-2007, 07:27 AM
Yeah I'd say its the same case with all of them. Even though I love the genre, I don't pay full price for them.

Disturbed316
10-12-2007, 05:11 PM
Found a place that had this for £30 so decided to get it. Am actually quite enjoying it. Just about to start the forth case.

D Mac
10-13-2007, 12:55 AM
Heh, I haven't started the 3rd case yet.

D Mac
10-14-2007, 02:21 AM
Just finished Case 3. Only had auto evidence view on and finished with Sr. Investigator.

Disturbed316
10-14-2007, 02:34 PM
Somehow missed four pieces of evidence in the 3rd case, no idea what the hell they were.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-16-2007, 08:28 PM
Just finished the last case, it was really fun. I want to try it again with less help, but its not so fun when you know who did it. So I'm going back to the 1st game next, because its been a few years since I've done that one, and quite frankly forgotten the cases, let alone who the suspects are!

Disturbed316
10-17-2007, 08:31 AM
Haven't finished with a major on a case yet, what bonus item does it unlock? Just about to start the final case, looks like a blood bath.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-17-2007, 08:38 AM
Yeah the last case is pretty interesting as you get into it

Disturbed316
10-18-2007, 05:24 PM
Finished off the last case last night, liking the big twist at the end. Shame there are only five cases as I quite enjoyed it. Will probably trade it in now as it has absolutely no replay value.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-18-2007, 05:38 PM
Yeah, pick up one of the others(as I've repeated 334354356 times in this thread) same great cases, and addictive.

Have you gotten master on all cases and found all the insects? Only then will you have truly beaten it.

Lord-Of-Darkness
10-20-2007, 08:47 AM
Like Disturbed and I said though, the replay value is lost in the short term because you know who did it, there is nothing left to discover. Thats why I go back to the older games and I'll probably play this next year or something when I've forgotten it.

D Mac
10-20-2007, 04:21 PM
Well if you haven't found all the insects then there IS something left to discover. :p

Disturbed316
10-21-2007, 03:13 PM
Done that.

D Mac
10-22-2007, 03:13 PM
Master on every case?

Disturbed316
10-22-2007, 04:02 PM
No, but whats the point? To unlock some storyboards? WHOA!

D Mac
10-23-2007, 01:03 AM
Then you never really beat it. Wimp :p

Disturbed316
10-25-2007, 04:57 PM
Its a waste of time doing it again. Maybe if I redo the cases at a later date, but doing them now with them fresh in my mind isn't my idea of fun.

Exactly what I said. Do the other games.

I feel like I'm repeating myself.....

Yeah I'll prolly go ahead and beat it so I can trade it in for CALL OF DUTY 4

D Mac

Finally beat it. It's going to be traded in for Call of Duty 4!
