Are you kidding? Snitsky's on par with Boogen.

Wait, you're right. He does suck.

The Val Venus gimmick has ran dry two years ago, but Moorley is a good talent.

Snisky is a waste of space anymore.

Henry's injured so many. Snitsky'd have to kill someone to even tie.

Well Henry is already the right color.

Anyway, even though I didn't really watched Raw (as stated in another thread, I tuned out after HHH vs. Orton MX), I did tune in when this match is on, and noticed something I find a bit of a flaw in logic. Val is as big as Snitsky...and slightly more muscular than Snitsky, but Snitsky is the monster and Val is the bitch.

I mean logic doesn't really matter her, as do the two wrestlers, but something interesting I noticed last night.

Val Venis: Generic Wrestler #853

Seriously, he never stood out above any other indy wrestler or any jobber WWE ever brought in. He just happened to get a sex gimmick that got over. Without the porn gimmick he's nothing, and that's sad.

I disagree. The guy is solid in the ring to the point where he's got no real flaws. I mean, can you list one thing that Val Venis does badly in the ring? Everything I've seen from the guy (at least since I started watching), has been well above average, especially for a guy his size. He's smooth and fluid in the ring, and his matches always manage to tell a story. Even the ones he can't exactly save, like his bout with Snitsky this week.

Val is the best seller in the WWE. There, I said it. Maybe it's because he's gotten a lot of practice at it, being used to enhance guys for the last few years, but he's the best seller of offence the WWE has. He also has the best chops behind Hardcore Holly (only narrowly behind Holly). I've never seen Val Venis get lost in the ring, which is more than what I can say about Randy Orton.

He doesn't need the porn star gimmick, either. His work away from the gimmick has all been good stuff (I've recently seen tapes of his first stint away from the gimmick with Trish Stratus, and I loved maturity his character seemed to develop), but it's the WWE that keeps going back to the gimmick.

You're not going to agree with me, because he's not your taste in wrestler, and that's fair enough. Val works the well-rounded style that I can really get into, though.

Does not having an obvious flaw make him not generic, though?

Simply not doing something bad doesn't really make you great. And Hell, the most memorable wrestlers tend to have obvious flaws. Austin got over with almost no wrestling. Bret Hart failed to draw a dime. The nWo was a drunk, a hasbeen, and a man who could tear a muscle thinking about wrestling. Shawn Michaels loses his smile every couple of years. Chris Benoit had a tendency to kill his family and himself. Okay, bad example.

Anyway, with Venis, he could keep the pornstar gimmick to his grave, and I'd still enjoy him. Though a 90 year old Morely talking about what the "Big Valboski" has in common with Triple H the third (HCubed)'s mother would probablu give me nightmares.

I like Val Venis, but I know he's never going to amount to anything.

I don't like Snitsky, but there have been a couple of times that I've enjoyed him. Mainly when he's kicking babies in the audience.

Why don't they just put Snitsky vs Kane and get it over with.

Because that would be awful. I wouldn't want to see Kane dropped to that level.

Snitsky is like an uglier, greasier, much less able and much less likeable version of Kane.

Val is a good wrestler without any glaring flaws.

He doesn't have"IT" however. He's not marketable, and he doesn't have that x-factor that make people WANT to see him. People will pop for him, but no one is buying a ticket to see him. I doubt anyone has ever not bought a ticket because Val Venis wasn't on the card.

How can he be a waste of space "Anymore?" Was he once not?
When he was given a viable storyline and some people to carry him to a good match, he was pretty good. He was a MAJOR heat seeker in kayfabe when he did the whole "wasn't my fault" thing, and I could've sworn there were at least a fourth of the crowd popping him with his foot fetish angle in every arena that he wrestled in, and he was still given matches with those that could give him some leeway (as in, they weren't letting him squash everyone in existance). Hell, the latter angle made him have something in common with 3/4ths of the COUNTRY, and I thought the WWE fucked up in not taking advantage of that (Vince is TOO pro-missionary, as you said one time, KK). They could've expanded on that and made Snisky the one guy that women wanted to be with because he wouldn't just look at their tits and ass (maybe even use him to take crack shots at Vince Russo and TNA in that respect).

But now they just have him as someone who comes out and squashes some nobody, and they bill him as another worthless hoss that is on the roster because Vince has a hard on for them and to fuck with anything we want. No direction, no character, it's as if anything he did or any fetishes he had mysteriously disappeared (WWE logic, assuming there IS logic here, I know).

So yeah, he was actually DOING something that made us at least give a shit, even if he wasn't that good of a pure wrestler. Now he's worthless and it's as if the WWE is just using him "just because we can".

That's true. He's just a good wrestler, and in my mind, that is enough to find him enjoyable. It doesn't mean he "sucks."

Also, the thing that pisses me most off about Snitsky right now is that he is doing the exact same thing he was doing on Heat, only now there's less character, and I'm meant to care about him more? Riiiiiiiiiiight.

I like the idea of Snitsky doing a big, ugly guy in love angle. It'd be very similar to the Balls Mahoney in ECW storyline, but I don't think it would be horrible. Just have Snitsky stick his nose out there for a Diva, maybe Candice Michelle. Snitsky could approach her and just say she's doing a great job at improving, and has really made a fan out of him. Candice likes being judged on her ability, and not because she's a piece of ass.

When looking for justification as to why Snitsky looks inside Candice Michelle, rather than outside, they could just have him tell her that he learned growing up that he was never going to be pretty on the outside, but he had all these feelings on the inside, so he learned to look past the outside of a person, and he's seen Candice grow on the inside, and he thinks it's truly beautiful.

That would be so much more interesting than sadist, shaved Snitsky.

I pretty much agree. Which is why Zero's pretty on the mark.

I agree, Val doesn't suck. He should definitely get a good mid card run. He could be built up enough to mean something on the mid card. Val Vs Carlito/Shelton/Haas/Kennedy, and even Umaga would be good midcard feuds.

Snitsky.... Ugh. I never liked him, I doubt I ever will. He just comes off as a wanna be Kane. They need to have a smaller heel who's good on the mic manipulate him. I could see maybe Santino playing a weasle and manipulating Snitsky into fighting his battles.

I was a huge Snitsky mark until he shaved his face off. Now he's not funny, doesn't stand out, and his innate blandness is more obvious than ever. As much as I did enjoy Snitsky, I don't think I'm ever going to like him again as much as I did.

I do acknowledge that he's not talented, though. I'm a big Balls Mahoney mark, too. I know. It happens.
