Gotta admire the balls on these guys I guess:

----

"This is the next logical step in a process that began back in 1991 when we first implemented the 'Taper Section' at our shows, where the fans were encouraged to bring in their own gear to record the show, and then take home their very own 'bootleg' of the concert they had just seen," explained Metallica sticks man Lars Ulrich. "This technology will enable our fans to get the best possible recording of the show, without having to hold a microphone in the air for the entire night!"

Full concert audio will be available on the site within four days of the actual show and will cost you $9.95 (about £5) for MP3s and $12.95 for higher-quality FLAC files. Log on to www.livemetallica.com to check it out!

Thoughts?

It's part of an evil plot on their part that involves getting people to d/l bootlegs and then sue them for having bootlegs of their copyrighted music.

Pearl Jam has amassed a considerable amount of good reviews about theirs. Obviously you actually get CDS with theres.....3 of which I own.

But people still download them. I know places where I can easily get them. It;s not gonna stop anyone.

Metallica embraces technology selectively, it seems.

Oh well, there's a buck to be made.

To be fair, it'll be cheaper than ever paying for a live album. :p

$13 isn't a whole lot cheaper than US prices.

I know it's a LOT cheaper for you, but...
