WWE.com has learned that several meetings have taken place between Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and ECW General Manager Armando Estrada that, if ratified, would allow SmackDown and ECW Superstars to compete on Tuesday and Friday nights.

While nothing is signed as of yet, locker room sources say that this open door agreement between Vickie and the cunning Cuban shyster will be discussed tonight, live on ECW on Sci Fi. No further details have been released, and when pressed for more information, Estrada was tight-lipped (a rarity in its own right).

“I have no news for you right now,” said Estrada. “But tonight on ECW on Sci Fi (10/9 CT), I will give some insight into these, come se dice, meetings.”

Combine a commentary team for them as well. Styles and JBL!

Interesting if true.

I'm guessing it's so ECW's incredibly shallow roster can have some fresh matches. SD and ECW are all done in one taping, and maybe having Punk/Morrison/Big Daddy V and whoever maybe do a promo on Smackdown or something might give ECW a little bit of a ratings boost.

Next week:

We have learned that Vickie Guerrero and Armando Estrada have reached an agreement to rename ECW to Velocity.

WWE.com has caught up with ECW Original Nunzio and got his words on this shocking announcement. "...You mean that this wasn't Velocity before?"

ECW Champion C.M. Punk offered his opinions "Do I still get to keep my title?"
WWE.com has just learned that Armando Estrada is getting rid of the ECW Title. C.M. Punk: "...Crap."

WWE.com will keep you updated on this situation.

In other news, Stevie Richards, Mike Knox, Balls Mahoney, and Nunzio have all been released.

So basically this will probably lead to Punk getting squashed by Batista in a title unification match. Nice.

I'd probably say it would be Edge vs. Punk if anything.

Either that or it will be Morrison and Batista.

However, I'm sure the ECW Title will be defended up through December when ECW's contract ends with Sci-Fi.

Of course, by then, it'll have less meaning than the US title.

...What am I saying..."By then?"

I'm guessing it'll go like this:

-Wrestlers compete on both shows for awhile
-Eventually, the wrestlers from the two shows begin feuding

then we get something like

Batista, Undertaker, Matt Hardy, MVP, and Finlay vs. CM Punk, Big Daddy V, John Morrison, Tommy Dreamer, and Elijah Burke. SS Elimination match, losing brand dies

SD obviously wins and the ECW timeslot is used officially as Velocity until the Sci-Fi contract expires. ECWers simply either get put on one of the two remaining shows or get canned

Well, we all knew it wouldn't last.

This could be a lot of fun. Elijah Burke and CM Punk on SmackDown!? That would be good shit.

Also, if they do a commentary team switch, I think it should be Michael Cole & Tazz on ECW, and Joey Styles & JBL on SmackDown!.

Also, this means we can get Nunzio in the cruiserweight division. It's not much, but it's another one.

Haha, defeats the whole purpose of the "brand split" as far as that goes. I blame Teddy Hart. :shifty:

No, no no....ECW will still have extreme matches...No?

But at least ECW will be defined by the originals...What?
