View Full Version : What's the chances of a woman becoming wwe champ?

I mean if a gigantic girls blouse like Orton can be champ then it won't be that far of a leap to a woman wwe champion.

okay- theoretically which current diva has the most chance of being champ?

There is no chance. Only Chyna could have been. But that ship has sailed.

Well I would have never guessed that Rey Mysterio would have been champ one day, but as he was I say there is always a chance. However, a credible woman's champion I doubt will happen.

I mean in wrestling, ANYONE can be built up to be the best or a dominate wrestler. If WWE really wanted to place the belt on a woman wrestler, they could. However it's more than likely not to happen.

Here is what I think it would take in the WWE for a woman to become champion (based on current ways of business). First it would have to have a woman that can go beyond the call of duty as a wrestler, preformer, and dedicated member of the WWE. She would also have to carry a good mixture of looks and muscle to look as a credible champion. She also has to have a good political standing with the WWE locker room and is able to win over anyone who doesn't think of woman much as a WWE Champion. This means that people like Vince and other higher ups have to see her as a credible champion as well, and like her enough to consider it.

On the current roster, I don't see anyone who will go that distance. I like Vicky, but I doubt she will be champion, and I'm liking Beth but I don't think she has the mic skill and not sure if she can get the political pull.

Rey was never champion.

Nikki Roxx has a lot of talent, but I doubt she'd be the first woman to ever hold a World Championship.

To be honest, I can see Amazing Kong doing it. The woman is like 272.4lbs, and she can wrestle. She tried to get in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament earlier this year, but they wouldn't have her.

I can see TNA actually putting her in a program where she tries to win the World Championship. It's unusual, it has never been done (to my knowledge), and Russo loves his attention-seeking angles (and yes, I know Russo doesn't write as much of TNA as he's attribued to, big whoop, it's all the same shit). Dixie Carter is also president, and as a woman, she might like to see an angle like that.

The only other women I can see doing it are Gail Kim (she would need male assistance) and Nattie Neidhart. The later could actually do it in the WWE, I think. She has the pedigree to do it, and she pretty much has her father's gimmick, which helps lend her the appearance of strength, I think. It wouldn't be the most credible reign ever, but I can see her winning the belt in a fluke, and then holding it for a few weeks.

If you asked me in early 2000 if a woman would ever be WWE champ, I'd say yes. Chyna was a top draw.

But it never happened, and to be honest I don't think it will.

Thinking back, if Jericho never joined the WWF who knows where Chynas career would have gone.

At the end of 1999, when she was IC champion and doing playboy and tv guide covers and becoming a household name she was one of the company's biggest stars and part of a whole "girl power" craze.
Aside from being one of the biggest stars, I'd say she was easily the biggest star in the promotion at that point that WASN'T main event. Since HHH had just gotten the bump up and it was a transitional period.

Then in comes Jericho, who's supposed to be a heel, and becomes tremendously popular and fan beloved and he gets her title, her push, and pretty much her spot in the promotion. It def killed her momentum since next thing she knew she was a valet and women's champion.
That and HHH and Stephanie fucking.

Only if it's Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley will it ever happen.

Are you honestly saying that Chyna deserved a push more than Chris Jericho?

I don't think Chyna should have ever won the WWE title, but been in a WWE title match, that would have been huge.

Im thinkin Beth Pheonix

BigDaddyCool

In all honesty, Beth needs a lot of work with promos. He is decent enough in ring and could be believable if someone like Rey was champion.

It will only happen if WWE wants to commit suicide.

Would have been cool if she got a PPV WWF title match against Triple H. Not win it, but it'd be a cool fued/event at that time. Maybe even a Dusty finish but never the title.

BigDaddyCool

Yeah, Or even lose cleanly and giving it her best shot. A match where she would have looked really good and empower women while not coming out as champion. That would have been best if it ever happened.

Jeritron
10-17-2007, 09:23 PM
After the match could have had HHH beat the bag out of her with a sledgehammer to really put him over as a cold hearted bastard and end any association with her at all.

BigDaddyCool

Then X-Pac could have picked her up and made a nasty sex tape...o wait he did.

A woman will never ever be WWE champ or get a title match that isn't a "Mwahaha! The evil GM/Vince will book a woman against the heel champ so that he can destroy her and be totally eeeeevil!" match.

A woman was an IC champion and #1 contender, and a Royal Rumble entrant. I think that's enough.

I honestly don't doubt that it will happen at some point. It might not be anytime in the near future or with any of the current "divas", but the WWE and most other wrestling promotions love to claim they're "creating history", or to build things up as "historic" events, and there's one that still hasn't been done yet...
