Exhbition games start in about a week and a half! Here is my preseason top 10
1. Memphis
All 5 starters return from Elite 8 team of last season and they add Derrick Rose one of the nations best high school players.
2. UCLA
They did lose Affalo but still have Darren Collison and a bunch of other talent. They also got a huge boost in the frontcourt with #2 HS player in the country Kevin Love.
3. UNC
Would have def been #1 had Brendan Wright hadnt gone pro. They also lost Rayshawn Terry. However they return Hansborough along with Ellington and Lawson is a very dangerous young backcourt. A concern about UNC this season is depth.
4. Louisville
This team got on fire the midway point of last season and it should continue as the Cards return 9 of their top 10 players from last year. Edgar Sosa is a great PG and they have a good frontcourt in Character, Clark, and Padgett. They have likely lost Juan Palacios for the season however due to injury but the Cards should still be dangerous.
5. G-Town
Although they lost Jeff Green to the NBA the Hoyas still have Roy Hibbert who I think is one of the best college basketball players in the country. They return plenty of guards.
6. Kansas
Kansas is loaded with depth and talent at guards and forwards. They return Brandon Rush, Darrell Arthur, Julian Wright, and Russell Robinson
7. Tennesee
Tennesee is young and dangerous. They only lost Dane Bradshaw. They have the Naismith Award winner IMO in G Chris Lofton. They also return Wayne Chism and the 3 Smiths.
8. Indiana
A sleeper NC is Indiana IMO. D.J. White is one of the countrys top big men plus Eric Gordon is going to be a scoring machine and one of the best players in the country as a freshman.
9. Washington State.
Who would have ever thought Wash St B-ball would be in the preseason top 10? They return their top 2 players from last seasons suprise squad in Low and Cowghill
10. Kentucky
UK is loaded and has lots of depth at the guard and swingman positions with players like Crawford, Bradley, Meeks, Jasper, and Legion. However losing Morris to the NBA and all the graduated seniors being frontcourt players there is a big gap at the PF and C spots. Getting one of the nations top players in PF Patrick Patterson was huge. But the rest of the guys are injured or inexpirenced. If the rest of UKs frontcourt play average then watch out because the guards are explosive this season.
Other teams to watch out for
Michigan State
Arizona
Texas
Gonzaga
Xavier
USC
Davidson
