Ugh. Sam Raimi's name is becoming synonymous was shit horror which is sad.

Some decent gore at times, some really neat shots at times but overall a total mess. By all accounts the graphic novel was all style and no substance which is fine, if the style is good, deep substance especially in the horror genre isn't really necessary. The problem with the movie is it's little style and no substance. The editor should never be allowed near a film again at least not of this type, everything is just an utter mess. You never get to know any of the characters really which again would be fine if the style and editing and look was consistently bang on, which it never is. Horror sites are sucking this movie off for some reason but that just might be because it's Rated R.

The other real sad thing is that there is some serious talent behind this David Slade's first full length feature was Hard Candy and that was just a sick little tight film. Capably edited too which makes the mess that is 30 Days of night that much more surprising since it's the same editor for both.

It was ehhh.

Go watch Comebacks instead. It is legitimately hilarious. I thought it'd be a steaming pile of shit, but I laughed so hard I cried.

The music in the trailer is pretty hot though.

I don't know. Parodies of comedy movies seem to stink pretty hard.

I had it stuck in my head recently, but thought it was from a video game commercial, nearly went crazy trying to remember what it was from

Its not like the Scary Movies or the Epic/Date Movies. It doesn't derive all of its humor from parodies of other films. After a few things at the beginning, the majority its humor derives itself from poking fun at sports movie cliches and funny situations.

Like this little bit:

Coach: I got this letter this morning from a dying boy named Bobby. His dying wish is that the opposing team wins tonight. Are we gonna give him his wish?!
Team: NO!
Coach: What do we want him to do?
Team: DIE SAD!

Was alright. There was some nice cinematography, especially in the beginning and I liked that the vamps were more animalistic and bat-like the the average movie vampire. But the ending left something to be desired, none of the minor characters had any distinguishing traits, and the killed Ben Foster :'(
