I mean, he's only 1 man, and he's not going to be on tv all the time.

I feel it will take more then just Jericho to save us.

I think we've already agreed he can't.

It's just something to be excited about for once, even if it doesn't make wwe as whole better.

Jericho will be debuting his new gimmick where he goes back in time and stops the last five years of WWE from occurring.

Hope he stops the Invasion as well.

He needs to go further than that and stop when HHH buried him.

Wait, was he undisputed champ five years ago? I can't remember specifically.

Depends what you mean by save. If you mean get the WWE back up to 4.0 and 5.0 ratings? Probably not. If you mean be the most entertaining person on WWE TV, and at least give you a reason to watch each week for the brief time he is on? Probably.

Also, five years ago Chris Jericho was probably teaming with Christian, about to step into the Elimination Chamber, during one of the more boring portions of his career, in my opinion. His "Vitamin C" stuff with Christian was great, but Jericho's heel persona was pretty bland around this time. Why? Because Triple H did his best to make us not care, of course.

A little. The "save us" thing has to have come from boards like this that have been saying Jericho needs to come back and save us from the shit in WWE. I think it's awesome that the WWE is giving us the illusion they're actually listening to us.

If the WWE capitalize on the momentum of Jericho's return (and then push him like in the same manner that they pushed Cena...atleast initially), then yes, I believe that the WWE's rating will spike up, albeit slightly.

Unfortunately, I don't see this happening. With Cena on the shelf, it looks like Triple H and Shawn Michaels will dominate the top spots for faces.

Jericho could be a heel (since Orton is the only other main-event heel right now), but I think it might be better for business if Jericho was a face. Although the WWE could probably get more out of Jericho's character as a heel, ratings are usually higher when there is a new top fresh face.

Jericho coming back is going to save WWE much like Kurt Angle 'saved' TNA.

If the WWE were to capitalize on the momentum of Jericho's return, then I think there would be a CHANCE (albeit...a small one) that the ratings would turn around.

Having said that, I think there is simply too much corruption, politics, and incompetence backstage.....so your statement will probably be true.

Unfortunately, Jericho will probably end up getting buried on RAW. If he's a face, he'll play 3rd fiddle to Shawn Michaels and Triple H. If he's a heel, he'll play 2nd fiddle to Orton.

No, but smarks are unrealistic.

No one wrestler can save wrestling or a promotion anymore than one wrestler can kill a promotion. It tends to be a lack of vision from the bookers/writers that will kill the promotion and a good understand of what the fans want and being able to work within your means that saves the promotion/keeps it running.

That being said, better quality of workers always helps.

While a better quality of workers helps, and my markish reaction wants me to actually believe they'd actually use Jericho right, the fact is that if Cena was around, JEricho's be jobbing to him. Without Cena around, he'll probably be jobbing to Trips.

The point is, WWE's pissed away most of their opportunities. When RVD was hot, they jobbed him. When Jericho was hot, they made a major title reign seem almost secondary. When Christian was hot, they tried to edit his responses and job him out. When Hassan was looking hot and credible, they jobbed him out to Austin (Who gets no benefit) and Taker (Who gets no benefit). Hell, even Goldberg ended up in a comedy gimmick that was retarded. Austin himself probably would have lost momentum with his "heel turn" if he wasn't "Austin."

Same with the boos getting for some of their key faces. And even when Trips failed to draw, they were forcing him down our throats.
