Send it to Microsoft, it's somewhere on their 360 website.

Though I did get them once. Stood it up-right and gave it a light, firm tap on the side a few times and it started worked. Haven't had a problem since.

Yeah call up Microsoft, they send you all the packaging shit you need to send it back.

I've gotten them sooo many times before, all I do is unplug everything and cut it on again.

Works everytime.

You may still get problems, but they actually replace the motherboards in the console, and the heatsinks.
I fixed mine properly, but it's a pretty serious method. But I couldn't return it under warranty anyway.

Yep. I'm on my fourth repair.

Anyway, your other question? They will tell you this when you call, but you never, ever, ever send your HDD in with the console. You just send the console, sans custom faceplates, sans memory cards, HDDs, and whatever the fuck else you might have attached.

Same thing just happened to me. Called them like 4 or 5 days ago. Still waiting to get the box in the mail to ship it back out. Fuckers.

On a slightly related note: did any of you guys invest in the cooling fan that goes for the 360? If so, how much was it and did it help any by your estimation?

On a slightly related note: did any of you guys invest in the cooling fan that goes for the 360? If so, how much was it and did it help any by your estimation?Which one?

I bought the intercooler, but before it shipped, I noticed warnings online that it FRIES your sstem. The new one's supposed to avoid that, but you know what? Screw it, I'm not chancing it.

So I own the Intec glow stand, and it does help keep the system slightly cooler, but I'm not particularly sure it'll ward off RROD or anything.

There are a couple more, but I don't know them.

Those external addon coolers are rubbish, likely to cause more damage than help.
I recommend getting the plug and charge kit, and then recharging your controller with it after you turn off the console. It'll leave the fans running until the controller is charged, and it'll help cool off the heatsinks. I make sure I do it every time I turn my 360 off.

I've got some upgraded internal fans in mine, they are quieter, and flow more than the standard fans, although you have to void the warranty to open it. If you were contemplating such a move, then you'd want to upgrade your heatsink clamps and thermal paste at the same time. As far as I'm concerned it's a permenant way of making sure your console never RRODs.

Yeah I wouldn't even attempt to open the console. I'd fuck that up.

Might go with your suggestion on the controller charger though.

Had three rings pop up today twice, never had them before or any other problem with my 360. I took of the intercooler I had and it appears to be fine for the moment.

Youre using an intercooler? Ouch.

Yeah, I got it when it first came out, but I'm looking to get another after this little incident. Any recommendations?

I am so fucking pissed right now. I just got a new 360 back today (I had to send mine out because I got the three red lights) and there was a note in the box that they just gave me a new 360. I swear to god I am playing for all but an hour and then it sounds like something popped. I'm like great, wtf? The console and controller lights are still green but now the power supply is yellow. I'm assuming the power supply is shot to shit. I just waited 3 weeks to get this fucking thing back and now I just called XBox customer support, and they're going to send me another box to fucking ship the god damn thing back out!!!

I got the thing back today and I have to ship it back out. This is fucking ridiculous. I am so fed up with companies putting out shitty fucking products that aren't made to last. I would just assume go buy a new fucking power supply because its quicker. This is fucking bullshit.

Im about to recieve my 4th Xbox in a year and a half.

This is horseshit. They ought to stop "fixing" a shitty product only to have it turn shitty on you again. Use some new fucking hardware or something. The sad thing is, its probably cheaper for them to hand out new 360's or power supplies than to actually fix the problem.

It cost microsift about 40 dollars to produce a single X-Box.

See guys this is why you spend the extra $20 at Best Buy and get the in store warrenty.. You could just take it to the store and SHAZZAM you got a new one..

Wouldn't you have to return the hard drive and lose all your data along with it?

What the fuck is the point of that?

Having a working system??

O_o

On a similar subject, my buddy's PS3 light goes from red (off position) to green (on position) to yellow, when he tries to turn it on..

Thoughts??
