I decided that alongside Helmsphere, I would do a Rate The, of my own, But for bands, or artists. I will be putting up 1-2 Artists or Musicians A day if I can. Im open for suggestions. I will be keeping track of the ratings, and giving a Ranked list daily.

Up first is a personal favorite of mine

Metallica has become one of the most commercially successful musical acts of recent decades, and are considered one of the "Big Four" pioneers of thrash metal, along with Anthrax (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthrax_%28band%29), Slayer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slayer), and Megadeth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megadeth). The band has sold more than 90 million records worldwide, including 57 million albums in the United States alone, which makes them the most commercially successful thrash metal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrash_metal) band of all time.

4/10. Highly overrated, they feature a drummer who couldn't drum for the first 25 years of their band. They popularised the infamous "Cookie Monster" vocals which have helped to keep metal as gay as humanly possible for years, and rarely offer anything that's actually reasonably original.

Yeah, I know. ZOMG METALLICA. they'll rank high. Mostly because 80% of "Metal" fans have only heard of them, four Nu Metal Bands, and maybe Slayer.

9/10 I hate this new direction it is going and I despise Lar$ Urlich. Nowadays I have to designate to people that I like the old Metallica. I guess some of the talent went with the hair

On a side note I am sick of people who say the love Metallica and then cant name a song besides "Enter Sandman".

On a side note I am sick of people who say the love Metallica and then cant name a song besides "Enter Sandman".You know, when the entire band acts like money grubbing cocks, it's not exactly fair to directly attack Lars. Unless you're attacking him for not being a drummer. Then it's fair.

Seriously, Hetfield, at the very least, is every bit the asshat that Lars is. If not worse.

on a side note, to most people, Sandman's the only song they've ever done.

I hate Lars because he was main guy who "hazed" Jason Newstad and made him quit the band. Plus Lars lead the Napster Crusade.

5/10

KEA and RTL had so much energy in them, even with the cheesey lyrics and entirely 80's sound they still stand out as the best imo, maybe not artistically but as a metal band they were never better and they never managed to produce anything as consistent. Master of Puppets is a over-blown "could've been immense" album and the production on And Justice is disgraceful, again could've been brilliant but in the end its a mess. Black album was good for what it was but the passion and energy of the early years was already gone, beyond that...meh

Infact I'm gonna go on the record here as far as MOP is concerned, I used to adore it, and I've no idea why:

Battery - is great, no denying it, perfect opener
MOP - Good moments, but far, far too long, just no need to string it out like that, I want to turn it off 3 minutes in
TTTSNB - Nice riff, again unecessarily long
WH (sanitarium) - Not a patch on Fade to Black, totally pointless
Disposeable Heroes - I can't even think of the main riff to this, that says it all
Leper Messiah - ditto, and I've listened to this album MANY times
Orion - I like it, again I think its overly long, but this was as good as their prog-delvings got by a mile
Damage Inc - awesome

So yeah, it shoulda been an EP, some masterpiece:foc:

6/10.

Never as good as Slayer.

Lombardo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lars

And I'll always find Seasons in The Abyss a better album than Master of Puppets.

But they had some decent songs like Battery and The Four Horsemen. Eh. Mustaine was with them when they wrote that song. No wonder it was actually good.
