View Full Version : If you look at WWE ratings since Cena was hurt have they gone up or down?

In my house they have gone down. :-\
I remember how some people made reference about it when he got hurt but I wonder if anyone here ever checked it out.
Me I don't think they will have a difference.

You haven't changed much have you?

Why should I change?
Should I keep sitting hear lookings at my computer screen and read threads and not post things?
I like Cena and because of that I talk about him. I see lots of kliq stuff. I hope you are giving the posters that talk only about that a hard time.

No, not that. I mean you started a thread about something that was talked about for a while and then people stopped caring. Just read a little back you should find some things about it.
By the way welcome back..

Ratings have actually gone up, breaking the 3.0 mark for the first time in a while. We're not talking stellar differences, however.

To be fair, I actually attribute the ratings hike more to people wanting to see Jericho than Cena not being around.

Ya know, one could make the argument that it's not that. It's the WWE writers are doing something right (god forbid the IWC will admit that) with the SAVE_US videos. They're giving us a lot of hype when for all we know it could be the return of Eugene.

In that case, almost nobody cares about Jericho, either.
The ratings increases are by no means huge, nor would I expect them to be. It's easier to lose fans than win them, especially when the cause isn't gone, only the symptom.

I think the best way to say it is people care for the idea of Jericho. Since we're just fans we don't know what's going on backstage, we just have an idea. A lot of us are set on that idea being fact. Since enough people have said it's a fact, in the eyes of the masses it's fact.

What does that have to do with the fact that there hasn't been a sginificant ratings increase?
Whether it's Jericho or the idea of Jericho, there's still not enough of an increase to really constitute "worth a shit."

I'm not talking about the ratings, just if people who are talking about the ratings can give the credit to Jericho.

Sometimes I have to remind myself we still have a WWE Champion called Randy Orton. It feels like poor Randy is getting no TV time right now apart from in matches, he's just keeping the belt warm.
Don't get me wrong, I think Orton is a shit champion, but you'd expect the champ to get more involved.

They can give credit to whoever they want, it doesn't really make a difference. The change so far has amounted to a handful of people, which is not significantly different from the changes in any stable show.
I mean, since we're arguing moot points, we could credit Sting with the ratings "increase." Or the Red Sox. Hell, the Raw ratings could be tied to the war in Iraq.

Because only carnies are dumb enough to associate themselves with Iraq.

But what if you have relatives there, does that make someone a carnie? Just wondering :shifty:

Well, "Iraq" was an oversimplification. By "Iraq," I meant "The clusterfuck that our mentally retarded President got us into, that no longer has popular support with the people, and that even most conservatives have distanced themselves from."

So.
Last week, the ratings increased and the viewers did, too. We're not talking millions, we're talking .2 points each hour and about 3-400,000 per hour more viewers, but I'd say, yes, that ratings are going up.
NOW, it could be a fluke, but honestly, I'd expect another increase next week, if for no other reason than the "Crack the Code" stuff. Jericho might not increase ratings by himself, but the hype around him probably will for at least that one night.
After that, we'll see how ratings fare for Raw...Is...ALLLEYAALEYAEYAAAAA....
