View Full Version : A return you wouldn't expect...

What would be a return/debut to WWE TV, in a regular role, that, if you didn't hear about through spoilers or whatnot, you would honestly be surprised by and/or mark out for?

Jericho, had all of this talk not been going on, and the vignettes not been run. Anticipation is nice, but out of the clear blue would be interesting as well, since until his comments on Larry King this summer I doubted he'd be back anytime soon, if at all.

I was just thinking about Bobby Lashley the other day. He's really not so bad, ya know.

He's not so bad. But he's just meh.
I don't miss him, and I certainly won't mark out for him returning.
On the other hand, I'm in the boat that doesn't really mind him being around.

It is certainly possible but unlikely for him to return to wrestling. I would like to see it though.

Big Show. He's getting up in age and weight, and looks to be done. Though if Scott Hall can drop all the weight he did and stay sober, I wouldn't put it past anyone who is still alive.

As long as he isn't superman-pushed, doesn't get involved in any title scenes, and stays the fuck away from a microphone, I don't mind Lashley either. Mark Henry cuts a better promo than Lashley.

A lot of these guys I would expect a return from so I dont see why u guys would be soooo shocked.

One guy I dont expect to return is the ultimate warrior though because he is a politician now, so I dont think he will ever be in the ring again.

The Rock returning is not a far fatched idea, it can happen. I wouldnt be surprised. Now, The Ultimate Warrior returning that would be a shock.

LOL. The Rock returning would be nothing "shocking" because its in the realm of possibility. But The Ultimate Warrior returning would be unbelivable because he is a changed man. Im sorry you cant see that, I guess u must be easily shocked or something. I guess u are shocked by everything on WWE tv, must be pretty funny at ur house when ur watching WWE Raw.

Mercury Bullet

Pretty sure The Rock has clearly stated that he has no desire to ever return to wrestling...

So then, yes it would be shocking if he all of a sudden returned to wrestling.

Xero
11-14-2007, 03:45 PM
Rock has as much a chance to return as Warrior does if you take age out of the equation. With age Rock is more likely but even still, highly unlikely. He's making A LOT more money and has a MUCH less schedule than he did with wrestling and isn't beating his body up every other day.

You know, I really shouldn't have to justify myself to a sock. Seriously.

However comma, the odds of the Rock returning to wrestling now that his career is successful and WWE can't really offer him anything of value are about the same as you learning to not spell like Prince, me joining the Aryan Nation, or Sascha admitting that he laughed all the way through Schindler's List.

Blah blah blah, warrior is changed....

Yeah, yeah. That's why Warrior's had more to do with wrestling in the past couple years than Duane Johnson, who is now trying to disassociate himself with his wrestling persona.

Yeah, Warrior Warrior has moved on.

Tammy Sytch (if she could get back into "Sunny" shape)

Rock's job may be better, but that doesn't mean he has to quit it and take his old one to return. I know this thread implies full time, but the Rock could easily return for one match, or in person, at any time.
Plus, his hollywood career will burn out eventually. He's doing quite well considering he's a wrestler, but I still think it's his wrestling name that fuels his box office success and recognition, and I'm not sure how much longer that will last. Maybe a while, who knows.
But I wouldn't be "shocked" if he wrestled one more match.
Suprised, yes. I don't think it will happen either.

But I agree theres a snowballs chance in hell of him ever returning full time.

The Rock returning would be pretty fucking sweet. I marked out for him on RAW that one time he was promoting McMahon vs. Trump. So would a miracle Stone Cold Steve Austin recovery. I can't be sure, but didn't Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair get told they would never be able to wrestle again because of back problems? Granted, Austin has a neck injury, but him returning to where he's an icon would be fucking fantastic.

Paul Heyman returning as a colour commentator would be fucking awesome. Stick him with Michael Cole when JBL returns to the ring, and let him promote "The Heyman Hustle." WWE.com could even host it.

Rob Van Dam in a wrestling role, especially to ECW, would be greatness. So would Kurt Angle or Christian returning from TNA, or even D'Lo Brown making a comeback.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't mark out for Doug Basham, Rob Conway or Nick Dinsmore, either. I'd be the only one, but those guys had talent. Seriously misused by the WWE. Sean O'Haire, Muhammad Hassan and Lance Storm and probably the last three names I'll mention.

TNAs main focus should be replacing Don West with Paul Heyman. They're both loud, obnoxious, fat, annoying bastards, but the latter has some credibility and knows what the fuck he's talking about.
