SMACKDOWN SPOILERS
Jeff Hardy vs. Fit Finlay. Ended in a DQ.
Victoria & Beth Phoenix d. Mickie James and Torrie Wilson
Undertaker promo.
VIP lounge. Hardy wants shot at US title. MVP says they have a tag match and out come Miz and Morrison.
The Miz and John Morrison d. Hardy & MVP to become NEW tag team champions.
MVP invokes the rematch claus.
The Miz and John Morrison d. Hardy & MVP to retain the belts.
MVP beats down Hardy, working over his knee.
Rey Mysterio d. Ken Kennedy. Botchfest.
Batista d. Mark Henry. Complete squash. Batista savagely attacks Henry after the match to the delight of the live crowd.
Lights go out. Undertaker on tron. Rolls his eyes back. Says nothing. Awkward ending.
Notes
ECW was taped first. Crowd was super-hot for the Hardys, but after the third time we had one of them come out, a lot of people had lost interest. The ending to Finlay / Jeff came off weird live. Very, very little reaction to Miz and Morrison winning the tag belts. Smurf the brand split, I guess.
Taker and Bats were evenly over, but the crowd sided with Taker when they were forced. Oh, and when MVP beats up an injured Matt - bad guy. Batista brutally attacks a helpless Mark Henry after the bell has rung - super face.
Kennedy and Mysterio put on a fun match but it was really taken down a notch because of all the missed spots. The ending looked incredibly stupid live. I'll be curious to see how they edit it on television. Crowd was still hot for Rey, regardless.
Fun show. Better than the last time they were in Wichita.
Miz and Morrison are the Smackdown Tag Champs, yipee.

So The Miz and Morrison are in a 3 way against punk but are now the tag champs
So we’ve gone from one tag team of a face and heel that don’t get on to a team of a heel and a heel that don’t get one
And everyone knows that heel/heel feuds are money right, RIGHT?
At least the Hardy/MVP feud can kick into a new gear, hopefully with Matthew getting the win at the Rumble, it would be amazingly awesome if they could keep the feud going till mania with hardy getting the win in Florida, but I don’t see the feud having much more life in it

Kennedy botching again? Ive seen him fuck up two big moves in three weeks on raw..i dont think ic an bare to watch that match of his with rey now, must be suffering from a confidence problem or something.
Also MVP/matt should've been tag champs for abit longer, miz and morrisson are not the right 'team' to be the champs atm at all.

The fact they had a 5 team battle royal last week shows there are other teams who could of taken those straps and had a little rub off them.
So they (officially) merged the two brands so that ECW could have tag belts?

Actually I get that one.
MVP is desperate not to face Matt for the US title, so he’s doing everything and anything to keep the tag belts on them, as he then won’t have to face him one on one. Hence why they evoked the rematch straight away. Once MVP realized the tag thing was dead, he decided to try to injury Hardy making him weak for the inevitable match, whenever it may be.

No, I get that point too. It just seems they blew their load to early especially since they won't be in a singles match at the ppv. They should have held off till the next ppv. That would have been big money.

The story for that can just be more build, classic heel stuff from MVP, destroying Jeff for a few minutes, as soon as Matt gets in MVP runs away, doesn’t get touched by him, gets counted out or something, and keeps the feud alive without laying a finger on each other. Because of the length of time this things gone on for, it’s going to take more than one match to blow this feud off anyway

I dunno what's up with Kennedy lately. Before his injury, when he was still on Smackdown, I don't remember him sucking nearly as much, nor do I remember him screwing up moves left and right. Maybe he just doesn't care enough.

That'd imply that anyone watches Smackdown!
In regards to Miz and Morrison being tag champs, while I agree it's better them than a team like the Major Brothers, I just don't see it as a good choice. They really haven't had any time building as a "team" and they're actually competing against each other for a singles title just 2 days after Smackdown is set to air. Maybe they're trying to add a twist of sorts to the ECW championship match by having Miz and Morrison on the same page to take out Punk? Either way, shitty way to do it, with no build whatsoever. Sad to see MVP and Hardy end this way....having them lose twice in 1 night after building them as such a successful team. Hopefully they carry their singles feud for a while and don't just end it after 1 match for the US title.

So, wait a minute... is it now a requirement that the SD tag titles be held by two guys who are feuding?
Khali and Hornswaggle for tag champs!

Seriously though, this year has now seen 3 pairs of antagonistic tag champs: Cena/HBK, MVP/Hardy, and now these two. Not that I'm complaining, because MVP/Hardy has been one of the best things of 2007, it just strikes me as odd.
It seems that whenever they get a storyline that works nowadays it'll be repeated multiple times. When they were going to strip Cena of the title, for instance, Hornswoggle was stripped that same week.

Why, because shitty wrestlers from one show now have the title instead of shitty wrestlers from another show?

Morrison and Miz as WWE Tag Team Champions is one of those ideas that just gets worse the more I think about it. At first it seemed kind of cool (because I like both guys), but then it just seems really pointless, considering they aren't a real team.
Reading what happened on SmackDown! in detail, Jeff Hardy apparently told Matt he had to be somewhere after his match, explaining why he wasn't there to help Matt. I just have a few points to bring up, though.
1) Why do this injury angle? The Survivor Series Elimination Match had the right build before hand. The injury angle should have been saved until the feud gets more personal.
2) Why not just have Jeff Hardy taken out by Mr. Kennedy, or something, backstage? Could this possibly be the WWE teasing a Matt vs. Jeff feud, with Matt being upset that Jeff wasn't there to save him from the injury?

Does it matter, 'Noid, that they're nto a real tag team has the belts on a show with almost no real tag teams in the first place?
And besides, the Attitude Era had some great moments with non-team tag team champs.

Damn. I was loving MVP and Matt Hardy. I was hoping they'd stay champs for a while (defending the titles regularly). I was also looking forward to them actually caring for each other, and becoming friends, but never admitting it.... being in denial.
It would be great if they were 2 of the last 3 or 4 guys in the Rumble, only to have MVP eliminate Hardy. Hardy would finally get his US title match at Mania, but they're still tag champs, so they'd have to defend the tag titles and such.
This feud/partnership pretty much writes itself.

Agreed. Austin/Undertaker vs. Mankind/Kane tag title stint sticks out in my mind. One of my favorites of all time easily.

There was also Austin/Michaels, I think. I seem to remember them having the tag titles, and them getting DQed because they got into a fight.
For that matter, the "Rock n Sock" connection, where they were a tag team only in the sense that they had a name that only one of them created. Technically, Rock n Sock were a Tag Team, proper, but then, technically, so were MVP Hardy and so will the MiZzZzZzZzZz And Johnny Nitro.
