I went out and bought a play and charge set to plug it in directly, and the controller still won't get sync. It just keeps flashing it's little green ring, plugged in or not.

I can even turn the console on using the guide button (when it's connected to play and charge), but that's all it'll do.

The Play and Charge kit doesn't actually connect it by wires, it just charges it.

Google tells me that it'll sync it too, which I tend to believe since the guide button will only turn on the console when connected to play and charge.

Just keep trying. Press them at the same time, different times, stagger, blahblhablha

Plug and play is a pain in the ass and gave me problems. I went out and shelled out the cash for rechargeable batteries and a charge port.

By right, the process to sync up is press the button on the console first, followed by the button on the controller. If all else fails, hit xbox.com

Yes it is. Beats the hell out of the play and charge kit.

Wasn't saying that's your problem with the syncing.

Well, eventually got the controller to sync...but the B button won't work.

The B button won't work, and one of the joysticks isn't calibrated properly.

I have a wired controller, though, so I'm over the major hump.
