The Return of Jericho has been spoiled so much with its latest save us video and the release of the new WWE magazine? Why the hell would they spoil it right now when they could have used the surprise element in his return next week?

Because Steph wanted it to be a big secret. Obviously.
Honestly, it was smart to drop the obvious clue in the last video. It never came right out and said it was Jericho, but it's an obvious clue. It should drive up ratings slightly.
The WWE magazine thing is just a result of them pushing his return back and it going out to subscribers.
As Vince McMahon would say...

When the fans were chanting for Y2J at Cyber Sunday, I've got to say that the only real "Surprise" that they could offer is having someone else entirely premier.
I can't in any way imagine this hurts the end result, with all the hype around it. This confirms to fans what they so desperately wanted to believe, and therefore, it hypes them up.

You know, there are a couple of valid alternative theories.

Seriously though, it's the age of the internet, what hasn't been leaked in the past 10 years?
Kurt Angle is about the only thing I can think of, and they used the internet to their advantage.

Like?
Like a legit printer fuck up, since there was never an actual given date before now.
This wouldn't be the first or last time someone in WWE failed to account for something rather obvious, like subscriptions.
Basically, what I'm saying is just because POD released a song called "Boom" on the same day 9-11 happened doesn't mean they knew about it coming.
I mean, for all the reports of the debut being pushed back, there's nothing to substantiate it. People talk about Stephanie bitching, and then they went and kept dropping "clues" to "Jericho's" "return."
I don't think there's any evidence it was pushed back, really.

How did they spoil it? I don't see how it wasn't obvious before. Everybody knew it was Jericho. Can't you guys just be happy?

There's no evidence if they didn't push it back, either.
I'm not saying that that they didn't always intend to do it now. But there are things like dates of his signings coinciding in the same area of WWE events. There were too many for them to be considered a coincidence.
My personal guess is that they had a general idea of when they were going to debut him and had him set those dates so that IF they wanted to debut him on such-and-such date they could. And/or they could shoot promos with him.
'Dirt sheets' were also reporting it. Unless WWE was purposely letting out false dates (which is entirely possible) people in the company had an idea if there were plans to debut him. These aren't always correct 100% of the time, but the people who run and report for the more reputable ones almost always get their information from someone close to the situation. Do the sources lie? I'm sure they do. That doesn't mean that all the information on this or any other story was fabricated by either the site or the sources and there's a good chance that plans just changed.
As for a printer "fuck up", I'm fairly certain that they HAVE to have a set release date for the magazines, since, at least when I got them, they always came around the same week in the month. They do the magazine months in advance so stopping it from coming out could have hurt the dates.
Didn't the original plan call for Jericho to return at Cyber Sunday?
That's what I've heard. And really, the videos made sense as far as the overall theme goes.

One rule that should be added to the IWC rulebook if it hasn't already: Never be happy, always complain.

I'm happy. I'd just like to be shocked here and there. Jericho would agree, based on what he's said in radio interviews.
I understand its an age where people spoil shit, and people can't resist being spoiled. And I understand things need to be done like merchandising and shit.
I just think WWE should have been a little less careless with the magazine cover. But whatever, like said, we all basically knew. Plus it's a business that isn't handled with preset dates and shit like movies. Things are more week to week and his debut may have been pushed back.
Of course I went ahead and read some of what it says inside the magazine. To be honest, it's really just got me more excited. I'll mark out monday either way so whatever.

Come on, man. Don't pull that.
Well, DO you have proof it wasn't?
No?
The argument works both ways. There is no 'real', concrete proof either way. Your scenarios could easily be as true as mine could be.
Only thing is, mine has proof backed up by major news reporters with ties to the business. Lies or not (and we will never know), it's more evidence than you have.

One: I've only seen this reported by Boone. Is he your MAJOR news reporter?
Two: It's not more proof than I'll ever have, since I'm A) Only positing another theory, B) Asserting that their continued behaviour does directly contradict the "insider news."
I'm not even saying that it's true. Come on, man. If anyone else pushed a thoery on this kind of "evidence," You'd be mocking them with fake links and the usual song and ddance.
I was referring to PWInsider's reporters and I believe the Observer.
Did you honestly believe I was referring to Boone?
Didn't the original plan call for Jericho to return at Cyber Sunday?
No but there wasn't a certain date he would return until they made the call to not use him on that show.

If I hadn't of seen the pic of WWE magazine, there would be a significantly bigger rise in my pants on seeing Jericho on Raw.
Regardless, the surprise is now completely gone, but I'm still going to be marking the fuck out all Raw.

I don't even give a shit anymore. I actaully hope he doesn't come back.It would have been LOL hilarious, with people who had invested so much energy into his return that they were threatening to to watch anymore if he didn't show up "this week" or "next week," if he didn't return.
No doubt the IWC would continue watching anyway, but it'd be beautiful, in a way.

"We" spoiled it, and by "we" I mean the IWC.
Everyone blew their once the name Jericho was mentioned.
The only fans that I know of that are left in the dark are fans who aren't online.

I'm sure it was spoiled to have people tune in, that way they know to watch when they otherwise might not.
Or maybe it's a conspiracy and it is in fact someone else who is returning...OMG IT'S THE SECOND COMING...OF THE ROCK
And I guess it worked...the leaking...because for the first time in months I feel slightly interested :naughty:
