I think part of it was the environment into which he debuted. Another part was that the clothesline bit seemed kinda lame. I mean, if I didn't know who it was, I probably would have lost interest right there.
Finally, I don't think his redebut was as epic.

Wow, I'm surprised the forums aren't down right now. But I do have to say that was an awesome moment. The build-up was even good. I know people get pissed when they wait too long, but that was all worth it, especially it being at the end of the show. I think the Ft. Lauderdale crowd gave him a good reaction, but it wasn't the best of ones. The NYC HHH pop will be louder and longer in my opinion. But I am definitely looking forward to see what will happen with Jericho in the future.
I even thought the rest of RAW was pretty good, except for the Holly/Cody match. And I am definitely liking the idea of a Shawn/Kennedy feud.
Loose Cannon
11-20-2007, 12:46 AM
man, really actually wish Cena was there and they would of done something like my scenerio up there. You don't have to put Jericho as a babyface or as a heel. It's 2007 and the real Jericho would do something like that anyway. You set up Orton/Jericho (Jericho saves Cena from him at first hence Orton wanting a match) and you still keep Cena on the show while setting up a future feud between Cena and Jericho.

Dave you're giving wayyyy to much credit to the WWE. come on, you know the formula by now.
The'll have a match at the next PPV. Jericho will job via being screwed somehow. chairshot, cheap rollup, etc.. etc.. Or it will end up being a DQ and Jericho wins. Either way, he's not taking the strap.
I'd put money on Jericho winning the Rumble, especially if Orton still has the Title. Jericho's never won it and it would be the perfect set up fpr him to do so.
Then we get to the Feb PPV and here's where they get tricky sometimes. Jericho could take the strap in a one off and then lose it at Mania or they'll just wait to Mania to have the match.
Here's the thing though. I don't see the WWE putting the Title on Jericho and if they do, it won't be for more then a month. Why?
1) He doesn't need the belt and if he does get it, it'll be to get Orton more over.
2) They're insistent on pushing Orton right now. Orton/Cena is the future, not Jericho/Orton and not Cena/Jericho.

I agree about the crowd, having watched the replay of it on youtube, some idiots were like'wtf is this?' They're probably 100% Cena fans...

Dave you're giving wayyyy to much credit to the WWE. come on, you know the formula by now.
Yeah I know, I'm sorry.
Orton has no other clear opponant for armegeddon, maybe Hardy, or Trips if they can find a way to finally blow off the Umaga feud next week that tag match, there’s 3 weeks left to sort all that out. Just putting them (Orton/Jericho) in together right now does nobody any favours. As someone is going to look weaker, it’s either going to be your brand new white hot face or your champ, neither is a good option.
It’s around this time of year that they set up the seeds for Mania, we have a potential MVP/Hardy feud for mania along with Edge/Taker, this Jericho/Orton could be another one, Orton could refuse to take him on because he’s not re-worked his way up the ladder, then Y2J can win the rumble, and go from there.
So both guys from this point can go on mega streaks, neither jobbing and both looking strong against different opponants up until the last 5 weeks before March.
….
This feud is going to be dead before Christmas isn’t it? :(

Even though I knew I marked out like a bitch. Awesome Raw, awesome debut. Seriously that was one of the best Jericho promos ever!

Awesome. Only thing really shitty about it was the crowd. Compared to what it would have been at a hot spot it was lackluster to say the least.
Yes, that's what I posted about last page. They should plan these things in bigger cities with better crowds. Like Chicago, DC, Philly, NYC, etc....Those crowds would have been really hot for it.

To be honest I found the promo to be sort of generic and what I expected as he went through all of his catchphrases, nothing wrong with that, but it's like if the Rock was to do a promo live, you could geuss 75% of what would be said.
It was a decent promo, but not OMFG amazing, as it was more cartoonish than anything else, which is what it needed to be for that night, as folks need reminding of who he is

How do the marks chant for lawler? He is a suckky old man.
Well with all the right-handed closed-fist punches he normally throws during a match, the only thing keeping the King’s fans from realising they AREN’T watching Jerry Springer is the fact that the audiences on RAW are always larger...:shifty:

I am quite worried that Jericho will lose to Orton and end up looking like shit, but i'm hoping they hold their feud off until after the Rumble (which hopefully Jericho would win) and have him beat like Umaga and Kennedy or something before then, to "earn" his #1 contendership or some such. Then win the title at Mania.
(then job to Cena at Summerslam :()

I'd like to see Jericho hold the title all summer. It's a pipe dream. But it'd be nice to see him get pushed as the top face on Raw from Mania through GAB. Then have Cena return to save him from 2 heels.
Have a tag match on Raw in which Cena turns heel and faces him for the title at summerslam. Have heel Edge come out during the main event and screw Jericho. Almost in a business deal between Cena and Edge, once arch nemeses. This helps put over Cena as this heel who will do anything to get back the title he never lost, and stay on top of a show that has changed since he left.
