No gods, a couple greats, a few goods, and some I haven't heard. Misleading.

I've always found The Decemberists to be overrated, especially seeing as they've somewhat been able to puncture the mainstream. They have some awesome lyrics and great songs but a lot of it does nothing for me, for some reason I find Colin Meloy's vocals a little annoying. I've never listened to Atmosphere or Sage Francis but people here tend to love them. From your list I think Belle and Sebastian and Elliott Smith are incredible though, the rest are good too, just nothing I listen to on a regular basis aside from Bright Eyes, who can be kind of hit or miss.

I really like the Decemberists, an American friend of mine showed me the video to 16 Military Wives and I thought I'd follow it by getting a copy of Picaresque, its got a real quality to it, which I can't quite put my finger on, same as Her Majesty the Decemberists. I think the albums are generally just pretty good to sit down and relax to, which frankly I find difficult with a lot of the albums I own.

Oh, good call on Camera Obscura as well, I haven't heard much of the new album, but I absolutely loved Underachievers Please Try Harder. Probably should at least download it.
