The lack of Johnny Depp's name makes your list null and void..

Darn I knew I would of forgotten some obvious ones.

I would put Edward scissorhands up there. I haven't watched all that many Johnny Depp movies because alot of the roles he has played is just not my type of movie..like the Pirates series.

Christian Bale deserves points for The Machinist. Maybe not top 10, or his on screen performance, but his transforming into a role and that dedication. DAMN!

And figuring his next role was Batman, even more damn!

Tom Hanks was amazing in The Terminal
Andy Lau is amazing in The Departed trilogy
Leo Dicaprio in The Aviator and in Catch me if you Can.
Both Mogran Freeman and Tim Robbins in Shawshank Redemption
I loved Edward Norton and Robbin Williams in Death to Smoochy
Toshio Mifune in Seven Samurai
Takashi Shimura in Ikiru.

These really aren't in any order, I'm just naming great performances.

No particular order..

Leonardo Decaprio - The Departed
Both Edward Norton and Brad Pitt in Fight Club
As said above somewhere, definitely Christian Bale in The Machinist.. his dedication to that role was insane. Just seems like he really loves what he does.
Christian Bale - The Prestige
Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe - American Gangster.. both were amazing in that movie.
Both Russel Crowe and Christian Bale in 3:10 to Yuma

Actually, pretty much anything Denzel has done. Same for Edward Norton. Both are just superb actors.

Mel Gibson - Braveheart (who can forget this classic powerful performance.. easily his best role ever)

Yeah, that's all I got. Really having a hard time even thinking of movies at the moment.

Not a remarkabel movie, but Ed Norton pretending to be a retard in The Score was amazing.

8.Marisa Tomei: My Cousin Vinny

:wtf:

As much as I love Marisa Tomei, she seems kinda weird on that list of yours.

My picks.

Tom Cruise - A Few Good Men
Matt Damon - The Departed
Tony Leung - Infernal Affairs
Jack Nicholson - Chinatown
Leo Dicaprio - Tie. Between G.O.N.Y and The Departed.
Denzel Washington - *Insert anyone of his movies here*

There's plenty more to add. I was thinking about adding Jet Li for Hero, but I passed on it.

I didn't think anyone else has seen The Machinist besides me. Yeah he looked terrible in that movie and then once you see him in the flashback when he was healthy it's even more shocking to have something to compare it to.

This thread started off is a strange fashion. However some of the performances mentioned are astonishing. I really don't have the time to think up the top ten I have ever seen.

Have to go with Bale in the Machinist though, Marlon Brando in Apocolypse Now and Johnny Depp in Fear and loathing. Also just watch American Gangster and Denzel is fucking outstanding in it. Also Ed Norton in American HistoryX.

i still think jack nicholsons performance as the joker in the first batman movie was amazingly well done, i saw it as a child and thought it was so real. twenty years later i see the movie again and realized how damn good he did that part.

"i am out here throwing my dirty money to you people, and where is the batman? at home washing his tights"

I think a few people have seen it actually, and Christian Bale just does not look like Christian Bale in it. The man is tremendous.
