Oh, you are Droopkis from now on in my eyes, mister.
Also, fuck yeah this show was good. All it was missing was a little Rock and maybe a brief video montage of RAW's deceased greats.
Well something I noticed with Jericho tonight was that it wasn't going back to the well that was messing him up, but more how he used it...feels like his timing is totally off.
For instance, STHU...it was the way that Jericho said it that made it awesome. Shouting it out like an idiot doesn't help you. In general, Jericho seem to rush right through everything. One important thing about getting a crowd reaction is timing and execution which Jericho still hasn't recovered.

Raw was amazing. A lot of huge markout moments. Gangrel, Blackman, Gillberg. That million dollar man ending.
RVfuckinD coming out of nowhere was amazing.
The nostalgia and party like atmosphere of it all was amazing, and the segments and the clips.
the whole show was great..
The only thing I'd change, and this is just my markishness wishing this was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, but it'd have been just perfect if...
DX stayed in the ring as DX for when Vince came out and stayed there to hit their finishers on him. Then Foley came out, and STAYED. Then Taker came out and even he stuck around, then Austin. Then The Rock.
THe photo op and moment would have been amazing. Vince standing in the ring with his attitude era. DX, Austin, The Rock, Foley and Taker. THEN let the rest of the lockerroom come out for the beer bash.

Review Of Raw,
I actually agree with what Jura posted up there. All 4 of those were highlights for me.
Most of the stuff I enjoyed I caught while I was lifting weights, so I could not post on here. I loved the Evolution/Rated RKO segment. I thought that and RVD was the best segments of the night. Lita/Kane was very funny and the opening was funny until they brought Mae out.
So with that said, the show was a +.
Other then that, I thought it was crap. How many times can a guy watch Austin come back and stun McMahon? How many times can a guy watch Hulk Hogan come back, confront a big guy and pose to the crowd? How many times can one take a Legends battle royal?
I mean what was with the "this was the most amazing show ever" comments? like, have you guys not watched Raw the past few years? There have been legends all over the place....and it's the same guys. IRS, Skinner, Slaughter, The Goon, Dibiase, Rhodes, Brookyln Brawler etc etc etc.... Yes, it was nice to see some new faces like Jim Neidhart, but it was nothing special i thought.
The whole Kennedy thing is a rip off of Kurt Angle/HBK from a couple years ago. How many times can they bring Jannetty back again because he was in HBK's past?
Y2J is not looking like a World Title contender at all right now. It's sad really because in a sense, I think the WWE screwed that one up more then I think he is screwing up.
I wished Holly would of plastered both Rhodes' with the Title belt like I mentioned before. Makes it more interesting then having them wreslte as tag champions. That divison sucks.
Like I said, it was ok as nostalgia shows go. But it's like some of you have never seen old superstars on Raw before. I'm just not seeing what was so amazing. Like amazing to me was when ECW reunited in 2001 or when Foley won his First Title.
I dunno, my 2 cents

Yeah was a really good show, thoroughly enjoyed it.
I understand what LC's saying though, the Hogan annual return and Austin stunner someone and drink to the fans are extremely stale but for this one night you can make an exception. The Hogan shit was pointless and terrible but it didn't need to be too good as it was the Anniversary show he just needed to be there (although I'd rather him not at all) Stone Cold HAD to stun McMahon on the show, and Austin returning however brief is always great for me personally and has me marking out as he was the idol of my childhood and there'd have been no attidude era without him.
Yeah all the show needed was the Rock and the thing in the ring which Jeriton said.
Great to see people like Steve Blackman and Gillberg, and Mankind - rather than Foley.

12-11-2007, 05:53 PM
Pretty damn good show IMO. I'll go match by match.
I'd give it a B+ to an A- overall grade.
Pretty surprised that they opened up the show with the family portrait. Anybody ever find out why Linda didn't show up? Triple H is awesome on the mic. any day of the week. However, we probably could have skipped the legends coming to the ring. Sunny is officially, if not, back in "Sunny shape". What a comeback after that crash she took when Chris died. Wonder if Vince will offer her that contract I heard about from that fucker Boone. Low point was Vince shitting on Moolah's funeral. Kinda bummed about that. :'(
The Ladder match was good. But not great. Really not one of Jeff's best by far. Sure you had your ladder spots here and there, but they were really far and few between. I was really looking for a really big ending with someone almost getting killed. But a few punches and Carlito falls off the ladder and rolls out of the ring really wasn't the end I was looking for. It was a great performance by both men. Especially by Carlito, but as a few of us said last night in the thread, "Too little, too late."
Which brings us to the big return of Mr. Monday Night himself, ROB VAN DAM! Kinda wished he bought out all the tricks, but a couple kicks and a 5* Frog Splash later ended that. Maybe he'll stick around?
Evolution for one night only sounded awesome. I was hoping they would kill Orton like they did the first time, but they killed two birds with one stone and brought in Edge to reform Rated RKO along with Umaga for a 6 man. Was kinda hoping they would bring in someone totally unexpected to tag with Edge/Orton, but since Umaga was the heel on call, oh well. Evolution wins. Kickass theme plays. Hugs and kisses all around.
After that. Probably one the, if not, THE downer of the night. Horswaggle (Why the fuck is this storyline still going?) McMahon vs. The Great Khali. Run around, dodge, pray Khali grabs him and kills him once and for all. Instead, Real American hits and out comes Hollywood (My show is probably going to get cancelled due to my impending divorce, but I'm gonna pitch my new show to you and collect my check for court) Hulk Hogan. In nWo colors no less. Now why didn't Voodoo Child play? The usual Hogan shit goes down. Posing, TV show pitching, takes a shot at Randy Savage, etc. See posts 592, 611, and 628 for what I thought about this.
Ah. The Legends Battle Royal. I think this was the best part of the night. Sooooooooooooooooooo many old faces, so many mark out moments. Especailly Gillberg. As soon as those cameras cut to the back, that was it. I was on the floor laughing. The entrance, the crowd reaction, even the forum was all going crazy. Even as I was working today and was thinking about it I couldn't help but chuckle. Blackman should be approached for a contract. Still looks good and can play Vince's hitman anyday. In the end, I.R.S. is left standing. Was praying like hell he would bust out the Write-Off but nope. But wait. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, old school suit and all, hits the ring. Mini Money Inc. reunion. And in old fashion, Ted pays off Irwin to go over the top rope giving Dibiase the win. Ted forever reminding us that "Everyone has a price.....", and Gillberg iced the cake on that.
Bischoff in Bridgeport. I'll be brief. I was bummed to see Jericho come out, do his shtick, deck him. End of segment. Would have been awesome if Vince or Shane came out and had a war of words. Or companies.
Cade & Murdoch vs. Holly and C.A.W for the Tag titles. Dusty was at ringside, so it was pretty obivious what was gonna happen. Could have made this on sunday.
Trish and Lita comeback. Beat up Jillian. Next.
Mr. Kennedy vs. Marty Jannety. Marty comes back, puts up some offense, hits the Rocker Dropper, I turn my head to type something, turn around match over. See ya in another few months Marty. DX comes out to back up Marty, pyro spot, photo op. Pretty much another downer which could have been over and done with early in the show.
Alas we come to the end. Vince announces who the greatest superstar of raw is. No surprise it's Vince himself. Mankind comes out, gives Vince Mr. Socko and leaves. Undertaker comes out, gives Vince a chokeslam and leaves. Glass breaks and Austin is out. Grabs a couple beers, helps Vince get on his feet, toast, stunner. Austin thanks the fans. Everyone comes out and they have a beer bash. Except for Regal. He prefers Coca-Cola.Overall. I thought it was an great show. The flashback moments and in-between segments were all great. Some slow spots here then sped up with something else right after it. Which dropped the grade from an A+. Best thing was getting this puppy up to 30+ pages in 3 hours. Hell of a job everybody. :y:
