View Full Version : I did not watch RAW... *Spoilers*

But I still marked for Steve Blackman.
Rob Van Dam wrestling a singles match was cool, too. The WWE would be wise to offer the man a lot of money to return and feud with CM Punk for the ECW Championship heading into WrestleMania. Or fuck, CM Punk vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. John Morrison.

If you didn't see it you should. Best Raw in a long time. Two of my favorite bits right there.

Actually, to be honest, the only part of the whole 3 hour show I didn't care for was the tag match. It was pointless, didn't fit the theme of the show, and it was obvious who was gonna win. But hey, 10 mins of 3 hours ain't bad

I was never a big fan of Blackman, but even I marked out for him a little bit. He should have won the battle royale.
Van Dam was a little less toned compared to the last time we saw him, but he was still in pretty good shape and it was a shock seeing him in the ring. Be warned, Alienoid, although it was technically a match, it was a total squash. Nice seeing RVD again though. He'll be back with WWE soon enough. I doubt he's stupid enough to go to the mess of a company that TNA is.

I marked for Blackman too, but I marked harder for the way the battle royal actually ended

Yeah, looking at the guys in the match, I was hoping Steve Blackman, Al Snow or even Scotty 2 Hotty would win (Al could have made a quip about Vince claiming he was the guy who got his ass kicked the most over the history of RAW), but the ending with Ted DiBiase buying the win?

I wanted to see a little Head Cheese action. But Blackman was a douche and acted like he didn't even know Al and heartlessly eliminated him instead.
I doubt he's stupid enough to go to the mess of a company that TNA is.
I say otherwise. Offer the right cash and a nice position, and RVD will probably bite.
Overall I thought it was a great RAW.
The Ladder Match was really awesome. The see-saw spot off the apron was great, but JEFF FUCKED UP THE SWANTON BOMB... AGAIN!?
The Battle Royal had quite a few mark out moments for me. I never expected Blackman or Gangrel to be in it, or even be at the show. The ending was SO great, but the crowd was so dead that it was sad. Honestly I expected Sarge to win it.
MOLLY!
I totally marked out at Van Dam's music hitting. Out of all the people who could have been wrestling tonight, he was last on my list. The pop he got when he did the RVD point was enormous.
You could tell he wasn't there to wrestle a big match, but I have to wonder. Was that so short because he didn't want to wrestle? Or because they were strapped for time? Because they cut into his entrance early and into the Evolution promo really fast. I have to wonder if the show was running long and that they cut a few minutes out of the match.
Sunny looked great.

Blackman should have gotten a contract on spot. During the battle royale I kept saying to my roomate, this should be for a one year Raw contract and either Gangrel or Blackman should win.
But I loved the IRS/Million Dollar Man ending

Blackman had to retire because of concussion related problems, it fucks with him hard, so he wont be back. He cant handle it.

The WWE would be wise to offer the man (RVD) a lot of money to return...
Didn't WWE just offer Chris Jericho a lot of money for a botched return? Also, I'm not exactly sure were WWE stands at the point...I could find their books as they are a publically traded company and have to disclose that sort of stuff. But handing out huge contracts to uppermid card works that have zero effect on rating (and probably buy-rates, which has yet to be seen).
If RVD want to return, WWE should try and get him back, but not bend over backwards for him as he has embraced them in the past with his drug antics and has never been that big of a draw on WWE scale of business.

I actually marked out for RVD. Not because I like him, I've actually never been much of a fan. I marked out because, for the first time in years, a completely unexpected entrance theme hit and I got lost in that little world of "wait a minute... who... the... fuck???" I miss that.

I agree completely. I had to think about it for a second. At first I was like...Hardy? No, they are 2 of a kind...

I still figured I was about to see either a midget, or else Santino dressed as RVD on the Tron. Yes I know that wouldn't make sense, but how would that be a surprise?

Thing I noticed is that most of the people in that battle royale had gotten chubby, or out of shape and whatnot...
But Blackman, who hasn't wrestled in ages... somehow manages to look EXACTLY the same as the last time he was on TV.
This leads me to believe that time doesn't catch up to Steve Blackman, it keeps its distance because it knows what's good for it. Also, I hear that under his beard, Steve Blackman has another foot.

They should totally bring Blackman back and give him an "internet facts" gimmick. Like, he'll just be the most amazing guy ever. He won't ever wrestle because people dive out of his way when he approaches. Then you could have... I dunno... vignettes where he does impossible things like challenge gravity to a fight and win.

Honestly, while it was cool seeing some guys, it made me sad to think that the biggest suprise returns were mid carders at best. Most of the guys never even were on raw except once or twice, so it was like a re-union of current employees and guys from pre-raw era.
it was fun, but it should have been way better.

Yeah, well Rock thinks wrestling's for fags now so you can stop watching in hopes of him making a cameo, much less returning.

No. Kurt only goes under Chuck's bed on the weekends. During the week he lives on a fortress on the moon.
Steve Blackman lives on the sun and still can't get a decent tan.

Technically, Canadian is a synonym for übermark. Canadians tend to obsess about wrestling to extremes that make Trekkies say, "Nigga please!"

Said it in the Austin thread.
Even though it was reported that Rock was invited but he turned them down, I thought, yeah, typical Rock/WWE, say he's not going, then, whamo, brings the house down with a suprise entrance.
For him not to show, just for 5 minutes, just for his fans, has really pissed me off.
Yep, still consider him to be one of the greatest WWE "entertainers", but he has now lost one of his biggest marks!

Entitled to your opinion KK as am I.
My opinion is that your anger is based on some moronic sense of entitlement. Which changes nothing about my statement. Resorting to the "Your opinion" stupid people trick kind of adds to the evidence for it.
Yes it may very well be "some moronic sense of entitlement", but so what?
This is wrestling for goodness sake. It's a soap opera, it's entertainment (supposedly) and I (on the whole) enjoy it.
So why shouldn't I feel let down when one of the sources of this entertainment is unavailable (for whatever reason).
It's just like an unsatisfied finish to a story - like Sopranos - some liked the ending, some hated it.
For me personally, I liked Raw's 15th - but I was unsatisfied by the finish.
Hang me if you wish, call me whatever names under the sun you want, comment on my views, but don't pass judgement on my feelings.
I'm bitter and angry, (all illogical I know) but hey, I will build a bridge and get over it.
