Alice in Chains is an American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) heavy metal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_music) band formed in Seattle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle%2C_Washington), Washington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington) in 1987. The band is currently fronted by William DuVall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_DuVall). The band has released three studio albums, three EPs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play), two live albums, four compilations, and two DVDs. They are currently working on the first studio album recorded since the 1995 album Alice in Chains (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Chains_%28album%29). This will be the first album from the band without former lead singer Layne Staley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layne_Staley), due to his death in 2002.
