Kane Knight
12-13-2007, 09:48 PM
Just tuned in on that last segment. Is TNA production getting better, or is WWE just getting worse?

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 09:48 PM
Did they open any of the briefcases yet?

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 09:49 PM

Are they gonna pull the trigger on Roode and Ms. Brooks yet

BigDaddyCool
12-13-2007, 09:54 PM
No, they built to nothing.

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 09:55 PM
Are they gonna pull the trigger on Roode and Ms. Brooks yet

Never. Which is ironic considering how quickly every other storyline is resolved. Well, every other storyline except Abyss/Black Reign

Innovator
12-13-2007, 09:56 PM
Every Abyss and Robert Roode angle, respectively, last about 6 months longer than they should

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 09:57 PM
But Robert Roode is awesome. So it's ok

BigDaddyCool
12-13-2007, 09:59 PM
Fuck, now it is Grey's #2, Private practice.

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 09:59 PM
What, is half the roster drunk tonight?

BigDaddyCool
12-13-2007, 10:00 PM

Kane Knight
12-13-2007, 10:00 PM
Christian sounded a bit like Jay Leno there.

Kane Knight
12-13-2007, 10:00 PM
What, is half the roster drunk tonight?

If it's only half, they're lucky.

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 10:01 PM
The similarities between Kane and Abyss are quite astounding, right down to what I'm sure will be the illogical character developments we're about to see here.

Kane Knight
12-13-2007, 10:01 PM
Why put the TNAS logo in the middle of a fucking entrance video? Are they afraid that in that three seconds, you might have forgotten what you're watching?

Kane Knight
12-13-2007, 10:02 PM

12-13-2007, 10:09 PM
So, nothing was accomplished here story-wise, except now we have another guy in the revolving door that is the Abyss/James Mitchell extravaganza

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 10:10 PM
It's almost like Abyss is the Goldberg-esque champion of sorts: taking on all comers, no matter how crappy they are

Innovator
12-13-2007, 10:10 PM

No really, what did he get, the X-Division shot?

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 10:19 PM
Petey Williams wins the World Title shot? Was this Feast or Fired match actually random?

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 10:23 PM

Innovator
12-13-2007, 10:24 PM

DarKCentaur
12-13-2007, 10:27 PM
The 1999-2000 era WCW parallels are quite amazing: Petey's briefcase was still on display, and Scott Steiner's was nowhere to be found.

DANIELS: So what's the plan?

BOOKER: What plan?

DANIELS: You know...the plan for me.

BOOKER: Huh...what...I don't know. You want a match next week?

DANIELS: A match!?! We just did a storyline where I got fired.

BOKKER: Oh yea, about that. We felt the fans didn't connect with the storyline so we dropped it.

DANIELS: But we already did it...it's an active storyline. We can't turn back now.

BOOKER: Sorry...but we didn't know where to go with it anyway. But hey, how about this...next week we let the Dudley's beat you up and then pee on you. It will be so controveral...we're bound to get ratings.

DANIELS:Is there a worst booker than you.?

BOOKER: Not while my name is Vince Russo!

Loose Cannon
12-14-2007, 10:53 AM
First time I caught TNA in a while. I really wish the show was on Monday's cause I don't watch wrestling any other night normally.

Good show. TNA does this thing with me where they can be pretty good and then pretty bad. And they go back and forth like every 4 months. Last night's show was an entertaining show.

This whole Christian/Angle storyline is a very well put together storyline. This is the kind of angle I miss and you don't see in the WWE at all. It progresses through the whole show and then has a cliff hanger ending. That is how a top wrestling angle should be booked every single week.

I thought I wouldn't like this, but the double personality Goldust thing entertained me. That's really cool and pretty original as I don't think I've ever seen an angle like that before. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

god how good is Bobby Roode? I'm glad he was in a good part of the show last night. Great wrestler, great promo. He's got it all. I'm glad TNA is putting him with the main guys.

I am liking the stuff with the Dudleys and the X guys. That's a great spot for the Dudleys to be in. They've developed that angle fairly well.

Everything else was meh.

Don West and Jeremy Borash really irritated me last night over two things. First, when the case revealed Chris was fired, Borash didn't change his tone or anything. He acted like Chris just lost a trip or something. The man lost his job. Usually, people act sympathetic when someone loses thier job. If it was Stone Cold Steve Austin doing the announcing, then yea, that would of fit Austin, but not Jeremy Borash. They made the whole angle seem pointless.

Then during that same segment, BG James said he didn't have a partner right now when he won the tag title shot. ok stop. The Outlaws have been best friends for ages and done everything in the world together in wrestling. There should be some kind of hush silence and shock portrayed when BG his partner was TBD, but no. Don West doesn't change his tone or anything and starts screaming OMG BG JAMES SAID HE HAD NOT PARTNER YET. WHAT WHAT. errr, you moron.

Kane Knight
12-14-2007, 11:28 AM
Yeah, but then, everything seems to have the same tone, anyway. The crowd always seems to have the same reactions to everything, for example. And the product itself tends to botch tense moments, which probably predisposes the crowd to reeact that way. I guess what I'm saying is, for better or worse, TNA really does deserve Don West.

Loose Cannon
12-14-2007, 11:38 AM
yea, I do agree with you there. TNA is very robotic across the board. They can dish out better angles then the WWE can currently, but the emotion and presentation just isn't there.

Evil Vito
12-14-2007, 11:39 AM
Yeah, Borash not changing his tone seemed odd. I had to chuckle at "On behalf of TNA Management, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors."

And I basically have to mute the TV during Impact. I don't mind Tenay that much, but Don West just needs to fuck off.

12-16-2007, 12:10 AM
Watching the replay edition at the moment.

Not a terrible show but not the greatest. The interaction between Steiner and Petey Williams in the 4 way was pretty great. For those who didn't watch, Williams is taking on the gimmick of the "Maple Leaf Muscle" and he basically mimicked Steiner's mannerisms throughout the match.

The "Deal or no Deal" for the Feast or Fired cases was terrible. Just terrible.

Like LC said, Robert Roode is the goods. I hope they don't drop the ball with this.

The RELLIK (by the way, that's KILLER backwards)/ Kaz match just ended. Kinda sad they bring in RELLIK (by the way, that's KILLER backwards) as some sort of badass guy and then he keeps jobbing.

The Abyss/James Mitchell segment just ended. Wasn't bad. Only problem I have is how often and liberally they use the barb wire. For Abyss, barb wire and thumbtacks have become way too common. I really think it takes away from the spots they do, especially because he (and those he wrestles) essentially no-sell the damage that barb wire and thumbtacks really could do to a person.

Loose Cannon
12-16-2007, 09:58 AM
yea, they did the same thing with Judas mesias. Brought him in as a bad ass and he sits there jobbing to Abyss

Kane Knight
12-16-2007, 10:04 AM
I'm telling you, I'm gonna start recording TNA. The main event and the buildup to it has been gold almost every time I've watched recently. And almost everything else has been utter shite. So I'll just start taping it, watch the fifteen minutes I care about, and skip the rest.
