This is a thread about the awesomeness that was the Diamond cutter. No stupid arguments. Just post about the Diamond cutter. DDP was awesome in 1998.

PS I know this will eventually be a Kanyon Cutter thread too. I am fine with that.

I am actually yet to see the Kanyon Cutter. Fuck, I miss Chris Kanyon. Why did people stop loving that guy? Alliance MVP, FTW.

The Jackhammer counter into the Diamond Cutter was fucking sweet, by the way. :y:

DDP was very poorly used when brought to the WWE. The man was just generally over as a performer, and the WWE brought him in as a shitty heel, without even the tint of being awesome. When they turned him face, he was at least over, but the fucking European Championship?

I loved the Christian/DDP angle, in theory. Christian turning on DDP was predictable, though. What the WWE should have done, in my opinion, was have DDP reveal to be more and more of an asshole (the kind of guy who sells self-help tapes for money), as Christian became more and more of a good person, changed by DDP's advice. Eventually you'd get a beautiful double turn out of it.

Is this gonna get brought up every time DDP is? No shit. We know this already. Get over it.

I never thought that DDP was the height of awesome that a lot of other people seem to. However, the Diamond Cutter was an awesome damn move, and that top rope business with the Giant was amazing.

I liked the angle where DDP feuded with De Beers and went to South Africa and gave everyone in the mine a Diamond Cutter.

lol gay. That guy just dived into it and DDP almost botched it because of that. Well he kind of did.

I'll be honest, I prefer the RKO. It looks better on Orton's end if he does it right.

Best Finisher ever!

Just because it could come from nowhere, I loved that. I hate moves that have to be set up.

FUck the twist of fate and how they counter into to but still do the gay OOOOOHHHH thing.

DPP FTW

DDP was very over, but his time sort of passed towards the end, so I dont blame them for jobbing him out. Still could have done it better though. Beating a Huge name is good, Beating a Loser that gets his ass kicked is retarded.

I remember in like 96/97 DDP never did the Diamond cutter against anyoen the same way 2 times in a row. Got it over as having variations. This was against the Flock when he was in the Stuck Mojo (Fozzy? :) Video

DDP was the 2nd main reason I started watching wrestling regularly in 1998. I was mostly a WCW Guy who would occusionally watch a little WWF.

I remember the three way war with Raven and Benoit who was my favorite wrestler at the time for some odd reason. I remember Raven taking a Diamond Cutter off the top rope, thru a Table which was Awesome.

Still remember the one time on WCW Saturday Night, where Page went to Powerbomb Eddie Guerrero, and turned it into a mid-air Diamond Cutter.

I loved the Florescent attire days, with the matching vests.

Some good ones in those vids. So many other ways he hit it they fogot though.

12-15-2007, 06:05 PM
I loved how he would sit up right after he hit it like "That was so awesome, even I can't believe I did that!"

One of the best finishers ever. He could pretty much turn anything into a Cutter, and unlike finishers today that require a thirty-second pose and set-up, he could hit it at any time. That Jackhammer counter is my favorite, btw. Absolutely sick.

We also know that the Diamond Cutter is awesome. Let's just close down this thread shall we?

The guy has nagging injuries, and he is probably not on good terms with the WWE, but how awesome would it have been if the Battle Royal on RAW had DDP run out, give everyone Diamond Cutters, and announced the winner due to awesomeness, and Self High Five played?

Ask him. It might have had something to with him being a ripping faggot. Or it could be because Alienoid started to fantasy book him to the title. Take your pick.

I don't recall fantasy booking him to the title. So I'm going to assume it's because he's a ripping faggot, which is just stupid.

I mean, let's put homophobia aside for a little bit, I think Tovo will agree with me, aren't half the people in wrestling faggots?

Also Diamond Cutter is awesome. Whenever my friends and I get bored and start giving each other wrestling moves, I'll usually deliver the diamond cutters.

Also if I ever went into wrestling and used the name "JT Kool", my finisher would be the Kold Kutter.

DDP is one of those performers for me that I'll never get over their WWE run and how badly it was handled. He's on that list with Tazz, Raven, Kidman and a few others.

I think this is mostly because I love talented wrestlers, but as a WWE guy, I want to see them make it in WWE. I watched WCW, but most of the time I'd be thinking, man I'd love to see this guy in WWF, or man he'd be a great champ or he'd fued great with this guy.
That's just how I was back then.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed DDPs work and he had "it". His run in 1998 was great, and I loved him towards the end of WCW.

He should have been pushed harder and stronger in his fued with Taker, and served as the backbone of the entire WCW invasion side along with Booker T and Steiner or Steiner
