WWE will be releasing DVDs for Batista, Bobby Lashley, The Hell in the Cell, Steve Austin, The Rock and Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig next year, as well as the long-awaited Summerslam Anthology box set, which will collect every edition of the company's annual August PPV from 1988 to present. For those wondering how Chris Benoit's bouts will be utilized, it appears the strategy going forward is to include his bouts in complete shows, but to not market the name nor to use him, for now at least, in compilation collections.

They've released a Batista DVD, but this is how they make money. Their entertainment division has bloomed because they're currently pushing more product than before. This means giving multiple DVD sets to guys who are relatively new.

I suppose this is no worse than the Spice Girls getting a lifetime Achievement award before Miles Davis, though.

In all honesty, who the hell would want to buy a lashley dvd? it's bad enough watching him for free on tv, let alone something you have to go out of your to open a disc drive to load it...

WWE markets to people with too much money. Well, mostly to kids with parents with too much money.

Damn their marketing genius! It's quite sad to think they'll make more money on this dvd than i could earn in 20 years

Considering that we were all hoping that Bobby Lashley was reinjured instead of what's going on with Bobby The Brain, I'm gonna say no.

Is he out?

I mean, I could be a wiseass and everything, since the only time I've really watched any wrestling recently was the Jericho return, and the 3 hour special. I didn't notice him during that time, but I can't say as I'd be guaranteed to notice.

So is he nijured or something? Because I honestly didn't miss him if he was gone.

I need to start saving up for the Summerslam box set.

Now if they actually do the Survivor Series box set, I'll be in heaven.

It is easy to throw DVDs together, low cost, and if they sell well, high reward.

WWE DVDs sell like mad , so this is no surprise that they are going to throw all kinds of shit to the walls

he hasn't even had a match worth putting on a dvd though, its fucking stupid.the only match i can think they'll definatley put on it is his one against cena, and that wasn't exactly great.

lol

I'm one of the people that marked the fuck out when Kennedy kayfabe put him out, because it gave Kennedy the rub of taking out Superman #2 and it meant Lashley was nowhere near my TV.

Someone here has a Lashley sig of the three faces of Lashley charisma, which is completely spot on. :y:

But seriously, this is nothing new. WWF used to release Coliseum videos on anything. They had one for Razor Ramon and Brutus Beefcake for fuck's sake.

Fox

It will be 60 minutes with Bobby Lashley and then an Extra with him talking about his entrance pyro and then an extra with all the shit leading up to McMahon vs. Trump and then the match with him vs. Umaga and then the shaving of Vince's head, and probably his match with Cena.

And lots of stupid people will buy it.

I actually like Lashley. So suck on it.

Fox
12-16-2007, 08:09 PM
I have no problem with Lashley. I just find it ridiculous that they're already making a DVD for him when there are guys like Kane, Chris Jericho, and even the Hardy Boys who have not yet had their own DVDs made.

Jura

Hardys had a DVD...

Fox
12-16-2007, 08:25 PM
Yeah, but that was 5 years ago. They have both done quite a bit to further their careers since then and they could easily fill a 2-disc DVD with some of their newer matches.

Xero
12-16-2007, 08:27 PM
So? If they have another 10 years in their careers you could say the same thing. So now someone HAS to get a new DVD every five years?

I can't wait for the first 3 volumes of Steve Lombardi's career.

I don't mind Lashley, but I think that he got a way bigger push too soon.

But I'm looking forward to the new Austin DVD coming though.

Every time I see someone get a DVD release I think to myself, why didn't they do a Jericho one instead? I mean seriously, the guy had that dumb ass Break Down The Walls VHS...and that was it. He's never had a single DVD release.

I'd do a three disc, part one all his stuff from around the world and him starting in WCW, part two him coming into the Jericho character in WCW to his arrival and first year in WWF, and part three his time as a WWE Main Eventer (off and on anyway...).

Londoner

I would definately get a jericho dvd, when(or if) he gets the title, thats probably when they'll do one.
