Just got this.

Really good. Michael Hayes makes himself out to be a god of wrestling.(although after seeing his promos and matches, I'm starting to agree.)

The end obviously, is pretty damn depressing. I've never felt so sad for someone as I do for Fritz Von Erich. How do you even deal with something like that?

4 of his 5 sons died. 3 of them being suicides, and all of them before they reached 30.

They were loads of drugs,

Fritz is hardly innocent in this, from what I heard from numerous shoots, Fritz was a pushy dad and put those boys into the spot light when some of them really didn’t want it, so there was a lot of pressure there

"You'd kill yourself too if you had the guts but you don't have the guts that your brothers had" - Fritz Von Erich to Kevin Von Erich.

This was from Heroes of World Class, an independant doc put out about a year ago. It is worth checking out actually. A nice companion piece to this one.

I'm glad they released this DVD as well as Heroes. Most fans probably had no clue what World Class was, other then it was a wrestling promotion back in the day. I got a hold of a compliation tape someone put together back in the late 90's and it was fantastic stuff. It was matches and footage from 84-86. David VON Erich was the MAN. One of the top 5 babyfaces of that era. SO many great characters came out of that company.

Gino Hernandez is another one that comes to mind that was so good as a heel. He was the model before Rick Martel. Freebirds, Brody, Garvin, Kamala, and the list goes on and on.

It's ashame the company sunk so fast after it was on top of the world. stupid decisions and untimely deaths caused it too

I am getting my dad both WCCW DVDs for Christmas. WCCW was the biggest thing in Texas in that time period.

I honestly wish I was born 10-15 years earlier, just so I could have been a wrestling fan during the prime of the NWA and World Class.

I wish I was born 10 years earlier to have been a fan of ECW in its glory days.

Or to have watched more NWA.
