Jeff Hardy or Chris Jericho in the Wrestlemania 24 main event than Trips, Batista, Undertaker, Edge, Orton, Cena or anyone else who is at the top because they are big.
They don't both have to be in there, but the thought of a combination of any of the above guys just bores me thinking about it. Its been done, its Wrestlemania for gods sake, not another Raw. The main event should be different in some way and driving through a plate of glass with the WM logo on as an entrance doesn't cut it either.
Jeff is in the right place at the right time at the minute and as long as he stays clean of the drugs and turns up for work on time, he can draw Vince some money. Jeff wouldn't have to win the belt at the end of it, but seeing him ME WM24 would be a nice fresh change, and he does deserve it.
Am I alone in thinking that the current WM plans look a bit meh and repetative?

You're not alone, at all. All the suggested WrestleMania main events sound boring, and quite frankly, rehashes. Triple H vs. Batista? Randy Orton vs. Triple H? Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H? The RAW side is in trouble. Of course, my suggestion is a rehash in itself, but see, Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho would actually be a good wrestling match. Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho does not sound like a bad match, either.
Edge vs. The Undertaker is almost guaranteed to be the direction they take Edge heading into WrestleMania, which is a little bit fresh. Personally, I'm sick of The Undertaker, though, and feel he'd be better in a lower position on the card. The thing is, he's actually likely to win the Royal Rumble Match for a second year in a row, and I'm going to yawn through it, like I did last year.
I still maintain that Mr. Kennedy should move to SmackDown! with a bit of a face turn, and challenge Edge. It'd at least be interesting.

The only reason I would rather see Hardy or Jericho in the ring is that every combination of the guys you mentioned has already been done. Trips, Batista, Undertaker, Edge, Orton, Cena... they've all squared off against each other at some point (there hasn't been a real Batista/Orton feud, but meh.)

The thing about WrestleMania, is that the entire card should draw. That means you have to have a lot of well-built feuds that people care about. The WWE Championship match at WrestleMania should logically have fan interest as it is. Sure, there are some exceptions, but that is mainly the WWE doing something wrong, rather than them not doing anything right.
The World Title matches at WrestleMania could theoretically be draws on their own. You have a guy as WWE Champion, which is all you need to know about him, and you have someone win the Royal Rumble and become the challenger. This year you also have the Elimination Chamber. Both World Titles will have someone going for them that has gone through hell to get their title shot. It will get them over.
This is why I firmly believe that guys like Triple H, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Batista do not need to be anywhere near the main event at a WrestleMania. They are as over as they are going to get, so logically, it makes more sense to put them lower on the card, to give the potential buyer more reasons to take the plunge and purchase the event. An Evolution Four-Way Match, for example, could serve as a great drawing point for WrestleMania. If the WWE Title is on the line, sure, it's a fairly big title match, but if anything it restricts the show. Whereas an Evolution Four-Way and a title match, would give you two reasons to buy the show, not just one.
I mean, sure, that changes when you have a money match on your hands, but the WWE does not have one of those. Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock aren't back, and that's not likely ever going to happen. The WWE currently has no substitute who even comes close.

That's all I read, and that's all you need to say. Spread the talent over the card and give a hot show from start to finish. :y:

Basically.
I look at the prospects, and I say "BORING!"
Hardy or Jericho would at least be, you know...Fresh.

The guy got a point, I'm a big time Jericho and Hardy mark, yet, can't wait for Edge to finally headline a wrestlemania.

Edge, Jericho, Jeff Hardy as a main event match could be awesomeness.
As for them going with UT vs Edge, its streak vs streak, it doesn't need to be for a title to draw, my interest is held in the streak vs streak. Its possibly even Undertaker's retirement match, that also adds interest.
I like Edge but I like to cheer for Edge, he's just better as a face IMO (I'll get flamed for that one) his current heel character just seems to be gathering cheap heat by being with Vikki Guererro and cheating to win (Good god, he's in an Eddie Guererro gimmick now).
What would be nice is a good hardcore match at like we saw 2 years ago with Edge, Foley, Dreamer, Funk.

I would thoroughly enjoy a Jericho/Edge WHC match at Wrestlemania. It would definitely be the low tier title match, but it would be damn good.

Actually, I'd probably cum over a three-fall match between Edge, MVP, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. The first fall can be for the WWE Tag Team Championship, with Edge & MVP facing The Hardys. The second fall is Fatal Fourway rules, with the US Title on the line. The final fall is also a Fatal Fourway, this time for the World Heavyweight Championship.
If you really want to get fancy with the booking, you can make it kind of an elimination match from the get-go. The first fall is still for the WWE Tag Team Championship, but the guy who gets pinned is eliminated, and the second fall is a Triple Threat. The guy who gets the win there is US Champion, and the guy he pins is out. Then the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line in a one-on-one match.

<font color=goldenrod>I still say I wanna see Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels.
Hardy wins the title at the Rumble...Michaels wins the Rumble. They seem to be going for a "mutual respect" storyline until Shawn turns on Jeff at Mania.....saying "being a good guy didn't help me at all last year"</font>
