This is something small, but take a look at the name of Randy's belt.

Matt Boone says this means Randy will drop the belt to HHH the night after the rumble. :shifty:

Maybe the belt inscriber guy was just used to putting that name on the RAW belt.

I remember when one of the belts were new (The WHC I think) they used tape and a sharpie to put the name on the belt.

JT

I think name plates on belts in general are stupid. With the big gold belt, I could understand a little because the belt looks generic enough without it, but otherwise the belts get traded fast enough that they are pointless.

Oh, and all joking aside, that nameplate was on HHH belt by the Umanga match. As one of the people fighting for kayfabe, I like that he had the name plate ready for him though there was no indication that he would have a match and wouldn't hold the belt more than 2 1/2 hours.

Ok, seriously. If they were going to do a "night after" drop, they'd just have gone and given HHH the belt at the Rumble. We keep hearing rumors of "night after" drops, and yet there hasn't really BEEN one in freaking years.

Remember the night after drop after Survivor Series 1997?

Yeah, that was great.

The whole "Champ" and "Mon-Nite-RAW" thing on it is stupid, though.

I'm also not a big fan of putting names on belts. Yeah, they do a big ceremony in the back, or whatever, but I don't know. It just feels so messy to me. There's something untidy in someone winning a belt and holding it up as it says someone else's name.

Theo Dious

No, I mean to say that it's the sort of thing people of his intelligence level would say, and also the sort of thing we tend to hear in these situations. It's pretty sad though that something that you said that should have seemed ridiculous has more credibility than something Boone would report as actual news.

To me that's part of the greatness of it. You've defeated the guy, now you're holding HIS belt with HIS name. Like a scalp. You took it from him by force.

Additionally, remember when Jericho won the WCW title from the Rock and he gave him his nameplate back? That was awesome.

Mr. Nerfect

I must admit, I'd love to see a wrestler start a collection of name plates from wrestlers he has won Championships from, and then he wears them in a jacket or something. Something like WCW Chris Jericho would do.

God, Flair could craft a suit of armor that would stop bullets...

Shouldn't it have Cena's plate permanent on it though and then whoever's the champ gets to put a sticky note on it or something?

Damn. Now a few years ago, I wouldve said the same about HHH.

Remember when he "broke" the Jericho story, and then the next day revealed that Jericho had signed with TNA? After that, I'd believe he'd write anything.

Listen to what Boone said. The debate is over, should never have even started. Don't we all realise by now he IS pr0 wrastlin' news?

Looking at those belts together, the Spinner Belt (I know it no longer spins, that's still what its known by) looks kinda awful, but the IC title looks kinda...Cheap. It's not that the IC title is abd, but if they're gonna bring in a new era and everything, maybe they should retire that title. Hell, Jeff Hardy can get a custom lava lamp belt.

TRIPLE H: Here's the belt, Randy. Just got it back from the shop.

ORTON: Oh, thanks... wait... this has YOUR name on it.

TRIPLE H: Oh... my bad, man, I guess I gave you the wrong one. I got one for myself too. Here...

(Hands him a different belt)

ORTON:... this one has your name on it too.

TRIPLE H: Huh... whaddya know. Guess you'll just have to wear that one.

TRIPLE H: Here, take Cena's. He broke the spinner anyway.

It is not as bad as TNA's World Title. On Impact!, it looked like one of the side plates was going to fall off.

My only complaint with the IC Championship is that it looks out of place compared with the WWE strap.

Also, Jeff should have a custom IC glow in the dark spinner belt.

Why do world titles always have an Eagle, a symbol of America, on them? Shouldn't they have like...a globe... or a world... or something.... The Intercontinental does....

Eagle is a symbol, of power, respect, dominance, freedom.

Why would you show the globe for that?

I think they should show pictures of Korea, since they're probably all made there.
