So I'm considering getting a new video card. Currently I have an nVidia GeforceFX 5200. I'm looking for something under $200 that will play Source games and World of Warcraft at a good looking setting. (I can't go over 1024x768 resolution in either engines without getting a bad frame rate at the moment and am no where near the max settings.)

Got any suggestions?

I'd have to recommend my card, the ATI X1900XT, whose architecture is about a year old but I can run all the current games remarkably well, including Crysis (on almost all high settings). You can find it on eBay, or the X1900XTX, for around $140.

Although, I think you should really save the money and go for the nvidia 8800GT or ATI HD 3870, which are in the $250 to $280 range.

so are the x1XXX being replaced by the HD cards?

Choose your flavor:

For Nvidia you could probably squeeze out an 8800GT 256MB for ~$200 but if you're wanting to stay under I would go with the 8600GTS 512MB.

For ATI I would go with a Radeon HD 3850 512MB. You can get them at pretty much $200 on the nose.

Those are going to be the best options for your price range and should give you some pretty good life.
