Dark Matches & Heat Taping:
- Nick Nemeth vs. Brian Kendrick. Kendrick got the win in a pretty dull match.
- Super Crazy vs. Snitsky. Snitsky wins in a pretty quick match.
- Davis Owens vs. DH Smith. DH got the win and was surprisingly over with the crowd.
- Drew McIntyre vs. Charlie Haas. Drew gets the win in a match that saw Charlie wear a luchador mask.
-Hardcore Holly vs. Trevor Murdoch. Holly gets the win and a nice pop.
WWE Monday Night Raw:
- Here comes JR and the King to open RAW...
- Ric Flair video airs highlighting his career.
- Randy Orton Video airs highlighting his year in 2007.
- Randy Orton comes out for a promo. Jeff Hardy comes out and shows clips of him getting the pinfall on RAW two weeks ago. Hardy ends up reversing a RKO and laying Orton out with his own RKO.
- Another Ric Flair video
- Next week on Raw: The Raw Roulette. Superstars will spin a wheel and wrestle in various WWE gimmick matches.
- The Hardys are backstage... Matt asked if Jeff wins the WWE Title at the Rumble, if Matt could have a title shot... Jeff says yes, lets go talk about it and they walk off...
- HBK vs. Mr. Kennedy. Typical match between the two. Kennedy gets the win with a clean pin.
- Backstage with Regal, Vince, & HHH... If HHH loses, he can't compete in the Royal Rumble.
- Backstage with Jillian Hall, Ron Simmons, & Big Dick Johnson. Dick is dancing... we get a DAMN!
- Backstage with Vince and Regal... Vince says Regal vs. Hornswoggle tonight is announced.
- Tribute To The Troops video shows
- Umaga defeats Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a Royal Rumble qualifying match.
- Backstage segment with Flair and Vince McMahon. Vince told Flair its over for him and his career tonight.
- JBL return video airs.
- JBL makes his return to RAW, coming in a limousine to ringside. Lots of balloons and confetti come down from the rafters. JBL comes out and talks about power. Y2J's music hits and he attacks JBL and the two begin to brawl. The refs come down and break it up.
- Small intermission while they clean the debris...
- Beth Phoenix retains the WWE Women's Title against Mickie James in a good match.
- Regal vs. Hornswoggle ends in a No contest... Vince gave Regal brass knuckles and told him to use them. Regal couldn't so Hornswoggle runs up the ramp. Vince comes in and berates Regal who then leaves. Vince said it was a test for Regal to see how he would do.
- Jeff Hardy video promo
- Jeff Hardy vs. Santino Marella. Match starts off and Orton comes on the TitanTron while the match is going on and beats up Matt Hardy in the back... Orton kicks Matt in the head... Jeff leaves the match to help Matt and is shown backstage tending to Matt with the refs.
- Triple H vs. Ric Flair. Huge pop as expected for Flair who is introduced last. Both men hit their signature moves. Flair locks on the figure four for a few minutes. I'm not sure, but I think it was Vince McMahon or Regal who came down and interfered, causing Flair to win by DQ.
Dark Main Event:
-Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho defeated Randy Orton and JBL when Hardy hit his Swanton Bomb. Good match.

Is it just me, or is the reporter generally disinterested in the WWE? Why is he attending one of their shows?
Heat sounds pretty fucking good to me, actually. Brian Kendrick vs. Nick Nemeth would be a good match, and DH Smith being over at least sounds interesting (it reminds me of how Bobby Lashley originally got his push). Plus, Drew McIntyre makes his debut with the RAW brand, facing Charlie Haas in a luchadore mask. I'm at least interested in the sound of that. Make Heat cool again, Vince.
RAW sounds boring, although it features Matt Hardy. It would have been a smart move to have Jeff Hardy get distracted with the video of Orton kicking Matt in the head, and get rolled up by Santino for three. Use it to switch the IC Title to Marella, and add heat to the WWE Title feud.
That whole angle kind of muddies the water now, because logically, Matt Hardy is now out because of both MVP and Randy Orton. He should want revenge on both of them. Either they have to give Matt a hitman type gimmick, righting the wrongs against everyone who has violated him (which would be pretty cool), or they have to put them into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania. Or we'll have to get a tag team match between The Hardys and Orton & MVP. Or some kind of Fatal Fourway.
The William Regal stuff sounds interesting, too. By the sounds of it, he'd now have heat with both Ric Flair and Triple H. He attacked Flair, and saved Flair's career over the expense of Triple H's spot in the Royal Rumble (hey, Triple H lost the match, so he should be out of it). I think the best we can hope for is a double disqualification, with Regal working matches with Flair and Triple H over the next few editions of RAW. Worst case scenario is that Triple H is out of the Rumble Match, and either wins the WWE Title at No Way Out, or wins the Elimination Chamber.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. Sweet fucking idea that is.
I loved it when Triple H was randomly matched up against D'Lo Brown in a blindfold match, and D'Lo was actually able to hold his own. :y:

- HBK vs. Mr. Kennedy. Typical match between the two. Kennedy gets the win with a clean pin.
Am I reading that right? Kennedy pinned HBK CLEAN?

Am I reading that right? Kennedy pinned HBK CLEAN?
That can't be right. HBK NEVER loses cleanly on Raw.
At least not to someone who has been getting beat by everybody for the last 2 months like Kennedy.

So even though Trips lost by DQ does this mean he is out of the rumble?
Probably not...he will probably win one of those second chance type matches later on the week before the ppv.

It'd be interesting if Triple H entered the Rumble as Hunter Hearst-Helmsley, the reason being that technically speaking Hunter Hearst-Helmsley isn't banned from the Rumble.
Of course there is more chance of Bret Hart winning the Rumble than that happening, but still...

Interesting? :?:
Interesting like Judy Bagwell on a Pole was interesting.
Triple H will probably have a match at the PPV for a spot in the Rumble, ala Brock Lesnar in 2002. If this is the case, let's all rest assured that Hunter will also WIN the Rumble and go on to Mania to challenge... *sigh... Batista.

Ah. Now it makes sense. He's using it in the pejorative sense.

Am I reading that right? Kennedy pinned HBK CLEAN?
It doesn't surprise me. Definitely a good move for the company. About this time last year, Kennedy was carrying Batista to good matches. He's slipped a bit, but he's still a worthy talent. This whole program with HBK is meant to get him over, it's just been overshadowed by Triple H's elevation of Jeff Hardy.
I'm hoping Kennedy looks gold in the Royal Rumble Match. In my fantasy of the Rumble, he enters #3, and makes it right up until the end, until he passes out in the Liontamer, and is dumped over the top rope by Chris Jericho, who entered #24, but took a hell of a beating by Kennedy and MVP, who teamed up against him when they were the final three.
Yeah, it's not at all likely, but that's how I dream, damn it.

I'm thinking that either the WWE ignores the stipulation Vince put on Triple H, or they acknowledge it, and we get Triple H vs. William Regal at the PPV, with Regal doing the job, and then Triple H either getting into the Elimination Chamber, or having a WWE Title opportunity at No Way Out. I'm hoping that they just ignore the stipulation, actually.

Yeah, I'm actually watching tonight so I can see Kennedy pin HBK. Kennedy always works a fine match and I'm sure HBK doesn't hurt that. I could switch the names in the last sentence and still be correct.

JBL's entrance tonight was ROFL. All it needed was him saying, "Jericho, I can have fancy pyro too!"
Raw was decent. JBL had the most pyro I've ever seen in a wrestling entrance. Jeff hit the Twist of Fate and not the RKO. I'm sorry Beth Phoenix fans but in most of her matches she has messed up a lot of moves and tonight she did it again. I also caught Carlito trying to look up Maria's skirt when she was on the ring apron lol. As for the Triple H/Flair match, the crowd was really into it of course. They cheered at almost everything Flair did and booed when Triple H did something to Flair.

Pretty good raw tbh, saw it last night, though it wasn't exactly 'JBL's raw debut' (as they announced it)was it? He's been on raw a number of times...

Not too bad of a RAW. But that women's match was a botchfest. I thought they would have edited it some, but damn it did not look good.
And I do have a feeling that HHH will still get into the Rumble. Even though the stip was however way he loses, he would be out of it.

Worse comes to worse, I could always walk out and blow some cash at the tables.
Didn't really watch last night. Just wasn't into it enough. I turned it off after JBL's bad ass return. JBL should get that pyro entrance all the time.
Here's hoping for a Kennedy push in 2008. Couldn't believe my TV screen when I watched the replay today. HBK hardly ever gets pinned clean, let alone on RAW.

Assuming they do HBK/Kennedy at the Rumble, we know who's going over.

The Flair/HHH match was an awesome match. I got lost into the whole storyline and was screaming for Triple H to tap to the Figure Four like I screamed for Triple H to tap to the crossface at WrestleMania XX. I am just glad they didn't have Flair do the stupid "Nut Claw" and shit.

With the exception of Rey Rey beating him cleanly on the Eddie Guerrero memorial show, has HBK lost cleanly on Raw in the last 10 years??

Yeah that was the only part I saw, and I thought it was fantastic.
Also, what's with HBK using the Crippler Crossface? Is it a subtle spit in the face of Bret Hart; salt in the wound? There are just so many submission moves he could use, I don't see why he has to use the Crossface.

He also used the flying headbutt in his match with Orton when he wasn't allowed to use the superkick.
I thought Raw was pretty solid, but I refused to read the spoilers beforehand.
HBK / Kennedy had some awesome wrestling in it and great psychology. Triple H / Flair didn't interest me at first but the match was great. Flair looked like he can still go and even went to the top rope without getting caught (about as rare as HBK losing clean). Are the writers still on strike in the USA? If they are it seems to have improved Raw considerably.
I really wanted William Regal to turn on Vince too, its fun to cheer Regal.
The womens match was reasonable for a womens match these days. Although given the people in the match, I expected better.
I'm glad Umaga went over as its painfull to watch Hacksaw wrestle nowadays.
I like the direction they are taking Orton / Hardy. When Jeff loses it at least seems like they aren't going to bury him. Brining in an injured Matt can help Jeff get over, and Matt has better mic skills. Its a bit like when Orton kicked John Cena's dad's head except that I care about Matt Hardy as he is a regular and not someone brought in for the sympathy vote.
Jeff going over Orton at the rumble and Matt Hardy winning the Rumble could be greatness, but I don't expect it to happen, ever.
I don't think WWE writers are allowed to be active members of the Writer's Guild while they are in service to Vince. Wasn't there something not too long ago about him wanting to trademark their ideas and make them sign contracts not speaking out about their ideas and stuff?
I just can't see Vince letting his writers strike on him when he HAS TO put out television every week. He would just hire new ones.
Flair looked like he can still go and even went to the top rope without getting caught.
Actually, I thought they would save that for his retirement match.

Yes but surely Vince, Shane, Stephanie and some of the other backstage guys could put together a Raw pretty effortlessly, they used to do it all themselves anyway. Personally I think if WWE wrote their own stuff, wrestling would be much better.
