Yo I have been watching Jeopardy daily, hooked on it

current champion Dan is a legislative aid from Boston Massachusets (His 6 day cash winnings total $126,229) best champion we've had in a while and its good to have him as champ after Cora turned heel and reigned forever

Yo there was this total jobber on last show, I can't even explain. She finisished with -$6600, come on. Got like 2 questions right. The Video Daily Double in the Jeopardy round category Geometry showed a picture of an isosceles triangle and asked what kind of triangle it was and she said equilateral. How did she even get on the show? She even gave multiple questions without saying "what is" at the beginning  plus she no-sold everything.

Yeah as Assman stated it's flipped like that in VA also. Now that I think about it, it is pretty much like that everywhere. I used to do a lot of traveling up and down the east coast with the fam, always staying in hotels I would watch Jeopardy, and WoF would come on and I'd be like 'wtffffffffff missed it' But it would only be 7:00, and I was like &&&%^what. Babatope was easily the worst champ ever, he was in the red for most of the game, and hit a few big ones at the end, then he wagered nothing on final jeopardy even though the play was clearly to risk it all, he got lucky that the defending champ was jawful at math and couldn't calculate right so he won by $100 because everybody got it wrong. Then the next day he tried to pull the same crap again only this time with a lead and he got BURNT

Freakin hate the part where Trebek talks to the contestants, like the most unfunny shit today was not too bad but when Babatope was on he was all "It says here on your card that sometimes people mistake your first name for your whole name" "Well yes this one person at work just called me Bob and thought my last name was Atope and just disregarded my last name" Trebek:"Hello Bob, how is Mrs. Atope?"

I as well hate teen week as they often don't understand how to play Jeopardy. The go back and forth between categories all the time which annoys me greatly. Once someone starts a category, they should finish it out in most cases. Instead everyone keeps switching it up to piss me off.

Also, for those aware or unaware you can watch a fair amount of episodes of Jeopardy on youtube, they are somewhat hard to find at times. But yeah, Jeopardy is amazing, which it was on like all the time.

Why do they call it a Daily Double if it happens more than once a day?

Apparently Merv Griffin, series creator, named it after a special attraction that happens/used to happen during a slate of horse races on a given day. To win a daily double bet, one must pick the winners of two consecutive races, hence the name.

He'll get got one of these days...champions who stick around on the show for too long start to make it more of a chore than fun to watch, IMO. I don't have a problem with most winners who aren't on longer than about 7 days. After that I just need to see a new champ crowned for a breath of fresh air.

OK, I dunno WTH just happened, but after tonight's winner and the 4 other semi-finalists via winning this week, as per usual, we get the other 4 contestants who get a semi-final berth via high scores among non-winners. Tonight's runner-up was one. Then I believe thwre was 4 others who all had the same qualifying score, so one or 2 got in via high score going to their game's Final Jeopardy! round, and 1 got in via high score after her game's Jeopardy! round, because she and another contestant were tied in the Final Jeopardy! score tiebreaker.

James Holzhauer is amazing. The reigning, defending Jeopardy! champion is currently at 12 days with over $850,000. Anyone else been watching him?

I'm now under the impression he's the famed "Bettor X" I've been hearing about that throws a lot of money around on his sports bets and wins big all the time.

After tonight's episode, whether or not James wins again, we will get at least a temporary reprieve from him, as the Teachers' Tournament will be aired the next 2 weeks (5/6-5/10 & 5/13-5/17). If he does win, this means his run as returning champion won't resume airing until May 20th.

That is all.

The woman who defeated James, Emma Boettcher, not only made Jeopardy! history by becoming the first champion to defeat a super-champion (a contestant with 10+ wins), but also winning a second, and then a third game. She had almost $100,000 herself. Not too shabby.

Government took $1.2 million of what his faces earnings

I don't know whom that was intended for. If it was for me, I thank you, however I have long been aware of the taxes the U.S. Government imposes on game show earnings. The majority of contestants who win prizes other than cash (such as a vehicle) are very rarely able to keep them, as the government charges so much in taxes for everything won that they simply don't have the money to pay for them without selling them to be able to pay it off.

tl;dr - Being a game show champion or winner in the U.S. is not all sunshine and rainbows.
