View Full Version : Cena's next movie...
From PWInsider:
WWE Films' next project, titled "12 Rounds" will begin filming on 2/25 in New Orleans, again starring former WWE champion John Cena, who starred in the company's most successful feature to date "The Marine." Filming is set to finish on 5/12.
The film features Cena starring as New Orleans Detective Danny Baxter. During the chaos of Mardi Gras, Baxter experiences the longest, most harrowing day of his life when criminal mastermind Miles Jackson III kidnaps his girlfriend Janine and orders Danny to participate in a battle of wits that lasts "Twelve Rounds" and spans the Big Easy.
Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Child) is attached to direct the film, which is currently slated for a 9/5/08 release. Mark Gordon, Becki Trujillo, Josh McLaughlin, Mike Lake and Vince McMahon are credited as producers.
"12 Rounds" was written by Dan Kunka.

"The company's most successful feature to date 'The Marine'..."
LMFAO. That's like saying "the smartest retard in the room" or "the brightest light bulb in this box of broken bulbs".

And what's with Cena and movies where his g/f is kidnapped? Is this some fetish now?

This is basically the same plot as The Marine. Bad Guy A kidnaps Good Guy B's love interest. Good Guy B is pissed. Good Guy B kicks Bad Guy A's ass amidst explosions and sweet fight scenes with goons.
Another trend in Cena movies...
Cena gets injured, goes away for a few months. Comes back to promote new move.

On the positive side: No Cena for a little while longer on WWE.
On the negative side: Months and months of commercials, backstage vignites, and promotional featurettes of Cena's new movie when he comes back.
Actually, I'd rather Cena comes back and wrestle than have to sit through all that promotion shit again like The Marine had.
So, you think someone will go missing at the Royal Rumble and Cena will investigate his disappearance around SummerSlam?

that pwi writer is wrong, aNOES 4 was the Dream Master, not the Dream Child. Dream Child was the 5th NOES movie which Renny Harlin did not partake in.

So, it's a mix of the Cena movie and the Austin movie.

Sadly due to this Im assuming any Cena heel turn will be on hold...and not only that but he will be given the belt again right away to premote the movie...
Damn....guess I gotta go back to watching TNA now.
Whoever honestly thought they'd turn Cena is pretty out of touch with WWE's style anyway.

Cena was never getting turned. Also, reading about this on Rajah, the plot sounded exactly like The Marine. Now it sounds like The Marine with a few elements of The Condemned thrown in. I'm sure critics will love this.
Also, Detective John Cena would be hilarious television. Especially if he gets to hang around the character I've been calling on the WWE to create for years now: Sherlock Helms. Then, when Cena is ready to return, they can become Super Cena and The Hurricane and run with that.

So without reading the thread I can assume it will be another "Rambo" type craptastic movie?
