I heard it got canceled and it was really good. Should I watch this or Battlestar Galactica first?
Also
The follow-up film, Serenity, was voted the best science fiction movie of all time in an SFX magazine poll of 3,000 fans.[57]

Better than
Blade Runner
Star Wars
Matrix?

Definitely go for Firefly before BG

BG is better, but Firefly is also great. Firefly is also a lot lighter, in mood, than BG.

Ya watch the series first, then the film. You'll get some info crossover as the film had to try and quickly get new folks up to speed, but the film will be a lot more enjoyable if you've invested some time in the characters first.

Also not touching that best SF movie ever thing.

Watch Firefly and Serenity first just because thats 14 episodes and then a 2 hour movie...

Battlestar is more than one season so that will take much longer to get through. I never watched Battlestar so I have no clue what its about but I know that Firefly and Serenity kick major ass.

Firefly is awesome, I didn't watch it until late last year, as soon as I'd watched the series and then the movie I said to myself "self, why did it take you so long to watch that, it was awesome"

I never really got an answer

Downunder yourself told me this: BECAUSE YOU WERE DOING THAT THING.

I didn't really understand but yourself assured me you would. He winked a couple times, if that helps, although it could be the fact that I threw metaphysical sand in his metaphysical eyes, I don't like voices in my head other than my own, tbh.

Serenity is far from the best Sci Fi Movie ever, that accolade I would say belongs to James Cameron four times over.

It is however a pretty damn good movie, following a fantastic series.

What can I say, Joss Wheedon knows how to pack in the nerds.

Seriously, though, Serenity broke some major records in terms of DVD sales and the like (though it wasn't huge at the box office), so it's relatively unsurprising it would get such high ratings on sci fi movie polls.

And for Fucks sake, do you ever use anything other han Wikipedia?
