I'm a huge fan of T-rex, David Bowie, Mott the Hopplem Velvet Underground ETC.
Tell me some modern day bands that are in this vein please.

Several bands you listed had more than one sound, evolving over the years. Specific periods?

mainly I like Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust phase
Moot The Hopple with Ian Hunter mostly.
Glam as a genre really produced very little quality music, most of it really was utter utter shite, this isn't a lack of impartiality on my part its just a sad truth:-\

When I was growing up, all my father listened to (so in turn I listened to) was Gary Glitter, T-Rex, Sweet, Slade, Mud, Suzi Quatro, Wizzard and others.
I've not heard much these days in the way of Glam Rock or anything comparable.

The Darkness kinda had a glam thing going, but I think they're already past the point of being relevant.
