Smackdown v Raw 2008 Roster

Has me confused. They feature Monty Cor Von or whatever gay name they gave him, Cryme Tyme, Chris Masters, Booker T, Sandman, and Sabu. While not appearing are RVD, Paul London, Brian Kindrick, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, the Highlanders, Boogen, BDV, Matt Striker, Kevin Thorne, and Beth Phonix to name just a few.

I believe most of the people I mentioned that are in the game, were still techincally part of the roster while it was being made, and I'm not completely sure if Beth Phonix had been featured much prior to the games release, or the deal with RVD, he seems to be on better terms with WWE than Sabu is yet not in the game.

I can understand Boogen and Thorne's missing, but Londrick? They were the longest riegning smackdown tag champions, and Ashley (their manager) made the cut.

Come to think of it, Victoria isn't in there either...but I think she is fairly easy to create as is Jericho.

Monty Cor Von was probably left into fill out the ECW roster a bit. Isn't "featuring ECW" a big selling point on this game?

Yeah, but Thorne and Matt Striker were both ECW guys at the time that could have filled in the ECW roster.

There was some interview posted with people asking about the wrestlers left out, from what i remember, yukes draw up a list send it to wwe and they say who will go in and who won't. Its probably in the smackdown thread in the games forum.

It's the same with almost every Smackdown game. The Spirit Squad were left off last years game, whilst DX (Which was reunited a few months after SS's debut) was on it. :nono:

Well, to be fair HHH and Micheals have always been with WWE. I don't know of a game where HBK isn't on it.

Not to mention, every PS2 wrestling game has had DX's mannerisms in its CAW system, without actually featuring DX. It can't have been hard to include them.

Also, I noticed everyone looks more cut on the game that real life, expect Nitro. Nitro has better real life abs than his computer counter-part.

For the same reason in that Sylvain and Conway had new music but the same tag team attire in their last game: Laziness. The roster of 2k8 basically tells us that nigh zero effort was put into this game. Although, I will admit: the names of the moves appear to be spelled correctly. Of course, I also don't see the "Derailleur" on the list.
