When did DX start? I watched the 97 Rumble and Triple H was still Hunter Hearst Helmsley, with the rich boy gimmick. But by the end of the year they had their own PPV. However two months prior was the survivor series where he screwed brett, so I'm wondering... When did DX officially form for the first time?

OK for mine, DX formed late in '97 (part of year 1 of the Attitude Era) and consisted of Michaels, Hunter, Rude and Chyna where the latter three helped Shawn beat Bulldog at One Night Only which was in late September that year. About 2 weeks later they then first started referring to themselves as D-Generation X (funnily enough coinciding with the release of DX T-shirts & merchandising).

Survivor Series was early November and Michaels was already a member of DX when he beat Brett (sorry when "Brett screwed Brett").

Their "PPV" was an "In Your House" event in early December.

The first time the group appeared on screen together in cahoots was the August 11, 1997 edition of RIW. They were nameless at that point. In the weeks following they continued to help each other and beat down guys like Undertaker and Davey Boy Smith.

They called themselves "The Triple Threat", "The Showstoppas"(both at the One Night Only PPV), and "The Clique/Kliq"(10/6/97 RIW) before the name "D-Generation X" was coined on the October 13, 1997 edition of RIW.

Not to be an ass or anything but, Wikipedia states that the official start of DX was actually at the One Night Only show in the UK on September 20, 1997.

That's inaccurate, but we're talking about Wikipedia here :|

I seem to recal Bret Hart calling HHH and HBK a "couple of Degenerates" on one show.
