Producer Tom Rosenberg confirmed that Crank 2: High Voltage will shoot, as the script was finished before the writer's strike. The concept of Chev Chelios revived with an electric heart will allow filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor to ramp up their extreme style.
"What propels Jason [Statham] is even more extreme than the drug that he took [in the first Crank]," said Rosenberg.
Rosenberg plans to bring the sequel in under relatively the same budget, except of course for certain talent. "We had to pay Jason more and the instructors more and so forth, but we generally don't do that where the sequel becomes so much bigger and less likely to be successful. No, the style will be the same, the shooting schedule is within two to three days of the [first] one."
This time, the filmmakers will likely not write themselves into a corner by re-killing Chev at the end. Rosenberg indicates Crank could also be a trilogy. "We'll see. It leaves off where that's possible. If the public embraces it, I think it's going to be bigger than the first one."

Crank was probably one of the worst movies i've ever seen, along with 90% of Jason Stahams movies.

Statham does rule, his american twang does not.
Didn't he throw himself off a fucking helicopter at the end of the first one? Not sure a new heart would do much good to be fair. Sounds more like the fucking Crow.

I like Statham, and I haven't seen Crank, but this really looks like a sequel we don't need.
I'm sure Crank is fun, but it seems about as good an idea as Highlander 2: The Alien Saga.

Crank was awesome.
Its just non-stop action and comedic value because of all the shit happening.
It's not a movie for snooty people. Its camerawork and acting is between a and b movies so watch it not expecting oscar caliber performances.

I love how the DVD has an edited audio version. At one point Statham calls that little bitch Verona a mother fucker and in the edited version he says mocha frappachino.

I wasnt really a huge fan of Crank but I was shocked when I heard they were making a sequel. I think its gonna be great how they start this one off because of the way the last one ended.

I don't think anyone who's seen a Statham movie is expecting Oscars, period.

Crank was great, but the dude fell off a helicopter. He'll need more than an electric heart to come back alive.
There was a movie a long time ago starring Mark Dacascos where a company put an expensive prototype microchip in his heart which essentially turned him into a human weapon but he couldn't slow down even if he wanted to. The movie is called "Drive" I believe. Sounds similar to the electric heart concept.

Ahhhh but I didn't say how he got to being on the helicopter. Was he flying it? Did he hitch a ride? Did he fall from a plane onto the helicopter? :?:

Crank was actually pretty good, I think. It was just fun, fun, fun, and watching it with a mate is really rewarding. Jason Statham getting Amy Smart in the mood? I'm there.
I'm hoping they just cheese up this sequel. I mean, as someone has previously said, it makes no sense for him to come back to life. Just have him hold live grenades to his chest and detonate them, exploding everything but himself. That kind of comical shit.

Crank 2: High Voltage also needs a little Dick Valentine.

Crank was basically the closest thing we will ever have to a Grand Theft Auto film, it was that mental, yet there were no actual explosions in the whole film.
He did blink right at the end ater the 1000 feet fall, maybe all the shit that he'd been injected with kept him going or something, oh fuck I don't care, more Crank should be awesome!

This isn't exactly a movie where the ending really matters, at least.
