Have limited this to just the main players, and if you are happy that Cena won feel free to vote for him.

Hornswaggle was never eliminated.

As soon as John Cena goes over the top rope, Horny should be announced as the winner. And his time in the rumble should be like 3 weeks, 2 days, 17 hours, 13 minutes, and 7 seconds.

I think Punk had a pretty good outside chance, it wasn't beyond the realms on possibility that he could win.

Edge v CM Punk as the secondary Main Event at Mania would have been pretty awesome.

Realistically, Kane.

...If you can call that realistic.

Ah man, no way should CM Punk have won the Rumble. Okay, so it looks like Cena may be in the main event of WrestleMania... it may be sloppy, the reaction will be mixed but big nonetheless, and there will always be the intrigue of who will actually win (you know it's going to be Cena, but you don't KNOW it's going to be Cena... ya get me?)

If CM Punk was in the main event of WrestleMania, it would be rather boring, played out before a lacklustre crowd reaction, and the result would be in no doubt (SPOILER: Punk loses).

Watch what I do here. If John Cena was in the main event of WrestleMania, it would be rather boring, played out before a lacklustre crowd reaction, and the result would be in no doubt (SPOILER: Cena wins).

But yeah, up until Cena came out I figured Big Show would be #30 and was hoping he'd win. And seeing it on paper/screen, CM Punk is my next choice. Again, about as realistic as Kane.

My thoughts exactly. Going in I wanted Punk to win and the way it was starting to look it seemed he had a good shot. I thought HBK was going to win, but I thought Punk had a glimmer of hope.

I said Kane. But I think he should win every year. Cause he never does.

lol Kennedy

If Kennedy would've been the popular choice, then I'm glad Cena won.

CM Punk. I can't stand him, but he's over. He should've gotten the Rumble win and built a nice feud with Edge as a secondary main event at Mania.

And sorry, but I don't think Kane is a realistic pick. I love the guy, but WWE just doesn't ever let Glen do anything cool.

Three options:

1. Chris Jericho
This guy was the hottest thing ever just before his return. Everyone wanted him back, and unfortunately the WWE did what I didn't think was possible, and dropped the ball with him. A win in the 2008 Royal Rumble would have said to smarks and marks that "Jericho is a big deal," and a WrestleMania main event pitting him against Shawn Michaels would have been fucking sex.

2. CM Punk (Who got my vote)
Heading into the Rumble, he became more and a more of a possibility. He dropped the ECW Title to Chavo, and had tension brewing with the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins and even Chavo Guerrero could have run-in and got rid of Batista and The Undertaker for Edge, but forget about CM Punk, who wins, gives the Rumble it's first unpredictable winner since 1999, and gives us a solid main event against Edge at WrestleMania XXIV, where he hands Edge his first pinfall loss at a WrestleMania, and wins his first World Heavyweight Championship.

3. Kane
This guy is always my sentimental favourite. His performance in the 2001 Royal Rumble solidified my status as a wrestling fan. It might not fit to have Kane go to WrestleMania to challenge for a World Title (although Kane winning the ECW Title at Mania would have been great, and having the Rumble Winner go after it would have given the belt a nice rub), but having Kane win the Rumble and then losing his title shot, or something, would have been fine.
