It's basically to fuck/ get a girl in the mood.
So far I've got
Sigur Ros- help here, which is the best song to use for the makeout session?
Baby Shambles-Fuck Forever
Bjork
Dinosaur Jr.
Anyway I'm tired and I want the album to stay in this same vein kind of ethereal and then suggestive.
Help me with which songs and what bands. Again, I don't want radio bands more than likely and I don't want any straight rock or hip hop unless it's more music heavy.
Dunno man to fuck the best thing to put on is something in a soul/smooth jazz vein imo, I dunno how people can get nasty to rock music

I said I don't want rock.
Sigur Ros is post rock
and babyshambles, fuck forever gets me the fuck in the mood.
Bjork isn't rock...
Dinosaur Jr. is post rock at times, the song I'm thinking of is, too tired to figure out which.
I do enjoy Jazz but I'm trying to keep it Post rock/ indie
Post-rock? Come on man this isn't philosophy, just call it what it is.

True story: By the time the Ramones were popular, the genre post-punk already existed.
That aside:  Post-Rock.

Dude post rock is entirely different than rock
Have you listened to sigur ros? Not rock at all really.
I wouldn't make a point to say it if I didn't think there was a major difference.

I'm sure you think there is a major difference.
Doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

And just to prove I'm not biased, I treat this with the same respect I treat any pretentious artificial distinction....

Have you heard Sigur Ros? It doesn't have a roll to it it is like melodies and more closely resembling Classical music than rock. The only similiarity is the instruments used which is why it is even called rock at all.

Who gives a fuck about bullshit genres? Post-rock, pre-rock, fucking infinite-rock, what does it matter? It's music.

Yes, you fucking retard, I've listened to Sigur Ros. Why does everything that you write come down to this stupid notion that people haven't seen/heard what you have, otherwise they'd agree with you? I've listened to Sigur Ros. Post Rock is still a bullshit distinction.
But  at "It doesn't have a roll."
Because, I mean, unless you're stuck in the fifties, that was insanely irrelevant.

Okay let's not use genre to describe the music I'm looking for then... you guys nitpick far too often and help far too little.
Anyway, I'm looking for long melodious, ethereal sounding stuff, or slight bounce with distortion regardless it needs to get you in a sustained mood.

lol the guy trying to point out how sigur ros is post rock and not rock talks about too much nitpicking

In High School, I'd screw to Queen. Though I'm pretty sure they're not Rock....:shifty:
There was the obvious "Get Down, Make Love" tune, but also the first album. And second one.
I'm weird, though. When I have a migraine, one of the first things I do is go into the bedroom, close the shades, and blast Type O Negative.

You whine about people not being helpful, then expect them to stay on topic.
Iiiiinteresting.
Hey fuckholes, I'm looking for some smooth Jazz like Natalie Merchant or David Bowie.

I think many genre classifications are pointless, I just don't think sigur ros and post rock are one of them. That's just my opinion. But if you want to talk about that, why don't we go to my Sigur ros thread and discuss it there, not here.
Thanks and I will think about putting some queen on there. But I'm looking for a more prolonged experience, Queen just seems more get in/ get out to me. Love queen don't get me wrong.

I am just looking for a style for this cd commonly refered to as post rock. It's better than describing it as.. oh you know that ethereal sounding shit that mum, mogwai, and sigur ros do?
Jesus.
Mitchantrophic called me on calling Sigur ros rock a few days ago and KK didn't go off on him. Jesus man chill the fuck out.

Awwww...Spazzing and telling me to chill out at the same time. It's cute.
By the way, you're right. IT's completely unfair that I didn't call Mitch on something I never saw him say, but called you on stupid things I saw you say. Boo hoo.
Though Mitch is probably still butthurt over the "Is Coheed and Cambria Emo?" Bit.
