Was anyone else a fan? I actually missed the original run, and got into it several years later. Despite the occasional preachy episode, I thought it was quite well done, considering most cartoons of the day were fucking Garbage.
I own the first season, and I know the second one is out on disc, but I haven't picked it up yet.

This show was pretty amazing. The sad thing is that you'd never see anything like it on TV today. The soccer moms wouldn't allow it. Nor would the kids watch it, since it isn't Japanese-y enough.
I watched the show when I was a kid and remember liking it. When I was older and got the DVDs, I liked it all the much more and could appreciate it on many levels.
Only the first half of the second season is on DVD. The rest may never get released due to poor sales.

Disney took the game to the next level with that show. I got the 1 hour pilot episode on VHS. I know the video game was pretty cool. But yeah, if this is out in box sets already, gotta track this down.

Yeah, very awesome stuff. The whole Norse Mythology angle was great.

You're kidding me. Poor sales? Motherfucker!
Anyway, you're right about the rest. Too little Animu, too much violence.

New-ish-style news: the story has continued. Greg Weisman, head writer, has got it out as a comic book. Picks up just after the end of the second season.

Didn't that guy from Star Trek (next gen) play one of the voices in that, one of the humans, but the main bad guy
I remember it, I remember enjoying it, but I don't remember anything else about it

David Xanatos was played by Riker from Star Trek. The guy who played Data played his assistant/Puck. Kate Mulgrew from Voyager played Titania. I think there were more.

So it was just a big Star Trek love in then
Were the creators just trekkies then?

This thread is making me want to go rewatch my DVDs... and find some sort of download for the rest of the show.

Many characters on the show were voiced by actors who were regular cast members of the various Star Trek series. These include Jonathan Frakes (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000408/) and Marina Sirtis (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000642/) as regular characters and guest appearances by Nichelle Nichols (http://imdb.com/name/nm0629667/), Avery Brooks (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000984/), Colm Meaney (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000538/), Michael Dorn (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000373/), Kate Mulgrew (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000550/), Brent Spiner (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000653/), and LeVar Burton (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000996/). And from the Star Trek films there was Paul Winfield (http://imdb.com/name/nm0934902/), who was the starship captain in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (http://imdb.com/title/tt0084726/) (1982), and David Warner, who was the Klingon Chancellor in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991).
From IMDB.
Also, Hudson was played by fucking Lou Grant (Ed Asner)

On one of my other message boards....a guy I know actually knows the creator of this fine fine show. The only thing that pissed me off was Gargoyles third season, Golaith Chronicals. Very very bad send-off but it's getting an actual run in comic form.

The Goliath Chronicles was made when the show was sold to Disney and the creators then had no say in it. The comics that are coming out now are by one of the creators and ignores the third season in favour of continuing off of the second season.
