View Full Version : So Raven is gone from TNA

His contract expired today, and TNA did not offer him a new one. Do you think Raven will be done with wrestling? He never really got treated too well in the WWE, but I'd mark the fuck out for Raven returning. The man is a genius when it comes to promos and mastering his character.

The WWE recreating the CM Punk/Raven feud from ROH (although Vince would probably be against the idea because it was not his own) could be money.

If I remember correctly, Raven had a lot of creative input in his WWE character in his last run yet did not really take off. The roster was quite stacked back then however.

He could pull off a very good 'stalker' angle on someone who maybe isn't up to much at the moment.

To be honest I stopped caring about Raven a long time ago. He was the goods in ECW and WCW, but now I always hear the name Raven and just associate it with other old ECW stars trying to cling onto a "wrestling icon" status that they never had to begin with like Justin Credible and Shane Douglas.

Hey, I've never been the biggest fan of Raven, either, but I'd prefer him to three-quarters of the current guys under contract. The man would make a damn fine commentator when he retires, too.

Also, his last run, while entertaining for the level it was on, was never really allowed to develop. He was allowed to write his own stuff, I guess, but he never got to compete on a stage of any relevence. He got shafted from a European Title match, which shows how much the WWE tried with him.

If he got offered a contract I’m sure he’d take it, but the guy just isn’t healthy enough and with the amount of time they would need him for I don’t think it would be worth either parties time.

I can see him in the indys, making some more secrets of the ring (which are fantastic) maybe some ROH appearances, but nothing more.

He’s got too many issues for another major company to take him on full time

Raisin ablilities are highly overrated. He constantly just goes back to have a stable of jobbers. Plus he is out of shape...not that he was ever really in shape. Prehaps he could be in creative, but his on screen wrestling days are over.

Yeah, well when he was Scotty the body, he was. But then he quickly got lazy and tubby and grungy.

I still can't believe TNA never booked another Jarrett-Raven match for the NWA World title. Instead they book the match on some indy show and decide to show the ending.
