I need some shows I can record on my DVR and watch.

I regularly record the following shows:

South Park
The Colbert Report
The Daily Show
Conan
The Simpsons
How It's Made
Animal Planet's The Most Extreme
Around the Horn
The Whitest Kids U Know
Several adult swim shows
The Soup
Random science channel/discovery channel/national geographic documentaries
The Office when it's on

I don't know. Are there any shows I should be watching right now?

I don't think I would like Lost for some reason. I tried watching 1 episode and wasn't a fan and I don't feel like getting into it really. Also, I hate 24.

I dunno of any other syndicated shows to recommend. But regular shows:

I recall you watching Always Sunny when it was on...

30 Rock
The Shield
Nip/Tuck
Pushing Daisies
Dexter
The Wire
Brotherhood
In Treatment
Friday Night Lights (although a 3rd season does not look likely)

Triple A

I've been watching In Treatment too, yeah. It's pretty good.

Blitz

30 Rock
The Office
Ghost Hunters
Reaper
Kenny Vs. Spenny
Pushing Daisies

I'd say Heroes and Lost, but they are really tough shows to get into if you haven't watched all the episodes from the start.

Is 30 Rock actually good?

I watched the very first episode because I was psyched for it because I love Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin, but I thought it sucked so I never watched again.

Yes. I felt the same way about the first episode. But I stuck with it, and it is hilarious. Alec Baldwin is gold.

OK you can't record this but look for Underbelly on torrents, the first episode was last night, 2 hour premier - if you like true crime shows and want to laugh at Aussie accents, you can go past it.

I would give Scrubs a try. It's one of the smarter shows on television, despite it's silly facade. It's got some good drama in there, and the cast are all extremely talented. It's the best comedy on TV at the moment, in my opinion. I like it better than the office.

The Wire is something I have no personally watched, but I plan to. It's from David Simon, who creates some of the most realistic gritty drama out there. He knows Baltimore really well, so I'm sure it's brilliant.

You've already listed Conan, so props to you on that choice.

I follow the Law & Order franchise, but you need to be in to those type of shows to watch them, I think. SVU has gone a bit stupid, though, and getting to be too much of a soap opera (needs more Richard Belzer and Ice-T),

Don't watch Lost. The first season is excellent but you will hate the rest. I'm 100% sure. I've been watching Kitchen Nightmares like crazy. And Clean House too.

I wish you'd give Arrested Development a chance.

Blitz

I have started watching Arrested Development, and love it.

Also, 30 Rock isn't funny at all. I don't know how that won any awards. I watch it because nothing else is on and makes me laugh like once per episode on average.

Loose Cannon
03-05-2008, 03:39 PM
Lost is amazing, but not a AAA type show.

I watch that and 24 whenever it's on. Nothing else really

However, I am just now getting into the Wire. How did I miss this show.? Curb your Enthusiasm is also great.

The only primetime shows I watch anymore are The Office and Scrubs. Other than that, I just watch random reruns of The Simpsons, Walker Texas Ranger, Saved by the Bell, and probably a couple of other things. Seinfeld.

All the HBO shit.

Sports. Southpark. Adultswim from time to time.

I honestly cannot take any show on regular tv seriously, outside of documentaries. The quality of hbo's shows and original movies just turns me off of everything else.

I watch NY Giants games religiously during football season. I just watched season 3 of The Office on DVD. Typically will only watch a show like that on DVD because I will get hooked and want to watch the whole series in a couple days.

Right now I'm hooked on this new show on Fox called New Amsterdam. Mad good, or at least I like it. I DVR it and watch it like a half hour after it starts to skip the commercials. I probably watch about an hour of tv a week.
