Anyone going to watch it this Sunday?

:'(
Probably not. Whatever happened to making original programming, and not remakes of stuff that is twenty years old.
I can come up with some original shows just off the top of my head.
A man working at an assembly factory has a mid-life crisis and decides to leave on a journey around the world. Each week he vists new cultures and expands his mind.
A robot working in a robot factory has a mid-life crisis and decides to leave on a journey around the world. Each week he visits new cultures and expands his artificial mind.
A star baseball player has a mid-career crisis and decides to leave on a journey around the world. Each weeks he visits new cultures and expands his HGH mind.
How about a comedy about rich snobs? That hasn't been done in a while.
What about another comedy involving African Americans and their culture in the business world? Pretty original, huh.
Back on topic, I might check this show out I suppose.
eh. I will, but it's not something that makes me all excited to finally watch.

I will. Just because Kitt is a 2008 Shelby Mustang GT500.
And DrA, it's not a remake, more of a sequel.

Fucking remakes, and "New" takes.

Bah, screw the GT500, it's not Knight Rider without the Trans Am. And for some reason, I don't see Val Kilmer being a very good KITT :o
I may watch, though, if I remember it's on.

If anything they should have left the Trans Am FFS
Killmer, will kill this legend.

I'm sure it would of been a Trans Am, if they still made them.

It's not even that it's not a Trans Am, it's just a GT500 seems so different from the old car. IMO, the Z06 or even the newer GTO would've worked great.

Its not like they are extinct, then again, you would need quite a few to do alot of scences, so I dont know, the GT500 is not much more common, less in fact im guessing.
And when was the last GT500 Produced?

Yeah, but would you want to spend the time looking for 5-6 Trans Am from 7 years ago, let alone finding that many used that are the same, or just say "Hey Ford, here's some cash, give us 5 of them 08 GT500's" if you worked at NBC?
 thats directed at FA.
Vietnamese Crippler
02-15-2008, 02:40 AM
Hell, it's probably more like "Give us 1 GT500 to add the LED strip to, and 4 base Mustangs as stunt cars."
P.S. :o

IMHO Classic Muscle Cars should stay as Classic Muscle Cars.
KITT is a Ford because Ford is the sponsor. You will see mostly Fords in the movie.
And LOL @ the "they don't make Shelby's anymore" comment. :D

However, I'm surprised nobody looked hard enough to find a Trans Am replica on e-bay or someplace to use on this show instead of a Ford.

Those things crack me up. Everytime I see one, all I can think of is - if you get rear ended in one of those things you're dead.
It looks like it was already in a crash and has been compacted during it.

as a ford guy, i see where your going with this.....the gt500 currently produced is not REALLY a gt500 like they used to make them, its fast, and looks like one, but to ford fans, its not.
BTW fallen angel, you got a mustang by chance?

I have to laugh, Really I do, Because your stating directly the point Im trying to get across, as an argument against me.
Yes, they look completely different, and thats why I said classic muscle cars should stay as classic muscle cars. Todays Charger and 1970's Charger looks completely different, and my opinion is that todays is inferior in looks to its predecessor, thats one of the biggest reasons I hate updated looks to classic cars, it takes away its rugged look in exchange for a sleek look.
Maybe in 30 years time, I may think that the 2007 Charger is a cool looking car, but I will still likely think that the 60 year old Charger is alot better.

Thats the point I was trying to make, they look the same, and are speedy, I dont think they have the mystique about them as the older models.
And no I dont, I dont own a car.
But my top 3
3) 1972 - Chev Olds Cutlass
2) 1967 - Mustang GT500
1) 1970 - Pontiac GTO

I watched it, as a Ford nut I loved the car.
It was prett much the old Knight Rider in feel - just mindless fluff, that won't push any boundries.
I liked when KITT asked if he was a homosexual though lol.

It was good, much to my surprise. Although, there was a little too much CG for my liking (i.e. the drive through Vegas) and, c'mon, a GT500 can't outrun an Edge?
I also think it didn't have enough Hasselhoff :(

Yea I was a little sadened by that.... all that time I was waiting for it and there he was for just a few seconds...
But from the way it ended I can already tell that the first season Finale will be something like...
Mike learns that his father has been kidnapped and now must save him...or something like he will team up with him.

I was more or less thinking the same thing about the actual TV series. It's fun, but not exactly groundbreaking. Still, it's fun, and that's the more important point.
Anyone else watching the series? I'm just getting to episode 2.
