View Full Version : So, Cena doesn't seem so bad.

After not watching any WWE programming since WrestleMania and ordering No Way Out, it actually looks like he's improved. I also thought the same thing when I watched Raw.

Maybe my suck-radar has failed in that time, but he wasn't as intolerable as he usually is.

Or maybe it's wishful thinking, since it doesn't look like he's going back to the midcard anytime soon regardless.

He's definitely not 100% back, I mean his matches have been pretty bad since he came back. Before he left he was getting a lot better.

Nothing's really changed, it's just the pallate cleansing effect of not watching wrestling for a while.

The main problem with Cena isn't that he sucks, but that he's presented in a way that it's easy to tire of him.

This statement is so true for so many.

Ah, I said Jericho doesn't suck.

Let's face it, not even you would be happy with his recent program with man-boobs. Wouldn't you rather see him in a better program?

As for Khali and Henry, WWE could do much more with them than they are - I'm not saying that they're top in-ring performers but that their current programs severely suck.

I dont mind it atm, he's only just returned and hhh/orton/cena have politcked the main event scene to their favour, so just have to put up with it.

Yes.

Mark Henry should do an angle where he rips off his shirt, puts on suspenders and calls himself Big Daddy H.

How much more could they POSSIBLY do with Khali? The man can hardly move and he can't speak English. He's in his ideal position right now - throwing his arms around and standing there, opening and closing his mouth and making primal noises.

Yes he was. The reign was too short imo.

Exactly. So why not use him as an "enforcer" or "bodyguard" type for some other heel and not so much as an active wrestler. Similar to the original HBK/Diesel, Christian/Tomko, Angle/whoever that bloke was. It's a great way to draw heat and THAT is where I believe the niche lies for the likes of Khali and Henry.

Seriously, if there is NOTHING else they can do with him then why bother having him on the roster at all?

Because he's big.

As for those guys you listed, they all are at least decent in the ring. Khali is the giant male version of Lita.

Khali would best be used in a tag team with Funaki. I stand by this statement. Ranjin Singh is hurt, and Khali wants to express himself to someone in the back, and they can't understand him. Funaki then appears and helps whoever it is understand Khali. Then, the next week, Funaki is used as an example to prove Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Zack Ryder or Curt Hawkins' dominance, and he loses a singles match against them. The heels swarm him, when The Great Khali comes out, and decimates them all.

There's a face team for you. It takes a big guy who is not good for much, and it takes a talent that deserves better, but won't get it by themself, and it makes them useful to each other. I'd mark out for Funaki & Khali as WWE Tag Team Champions, to be honest.

And Cena is pretty bad, to be honest. Not him, per se, "Cena" is just a metaphor for the product the WWE puts forward.

Just one question. How can you get Funaki to help someone understand Khali when NO ONE can understand Funaki as well?

Was watching vengeance 02, Super Cena pinning the guy who had just main evented wrestlemania and had simultaneous reign as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion and the WWF Champion. For the record he hasn't changed a bit.

I still think the absolute best outcome of No Way Out, would have been for Jericho to win the Elimination Chamber, and for Cena to win the WWE Title. Cena has been owning Jericho since soon after his debut, and it's been going on for six years. It's a story that writes itself.

Cena is such an intriguing character to me. Not so much becaue of his on screen character, but just the outrageous reactions he gets, whether positive or negative. He's a really talented guy (lacking some in the ring, but quite tolerable still), and I can not WAIT until he turns heel. That shit will be monumental.

Bizarre indeed. John Cena hate and Transformers really unites the people. Maybe I am your sock, and just don't realise it?

The on-screen character should be what engages you. The outrageous reaction he gets is because he is consistently pushed as the top guy despite this lack of an interesting on-screen character.

John Cena as a main eventer is justified by his supporters because of his crowd reactions, but the crowd reactions are because of his main event role. There is a paradox in there somewhere. A face should not get as heavily booed as him. It is not good, it is not interesting, it is the fans saying "NO!" and it going ignored. That is why ratings are dropping, PPVs aren't getting bought as much, and smarks seem to be dying out in live crowds, and why the shows seem to be getting shitter crowds (in my opinion). If John Cena was a tweener and getting this kind of reaction...awesome. He's meant to be liked, though. Someone is doing a horrible job somewhere.

John Cena turning heel would be fucking great, though. Maybe his talent will then shine through a lot more, and he will actually be exciting and an interesting on-screen character?

Also, I think the divide between heel and face is slowly breaking down these days. Honestly, I like it better that way.
