ANAHEIM, Calif. – After speaking with both neurologists and neuroscientists on site at an undisclosed California medical facility, WWE.com reporters have learned that Hornswoggle is suffering from swelling of the brain. Typical in individuals who have suffered blunt impact to their skull, this condition may be associated with a small amount of internal cranial bleeding.

The brain swelling suffered by Hornswoggle at the hands of JBL on Raw, according to doctors, is known to have additional symptoms including short-term memory loss, severe headaches, dizziness and nausea.

At this stage, there is no discernible recovery time slated for the 4-foot Superstar. However, officials have confirmed that Hornswoggle will likely be kept in the facility for at least a week or more, as there will be a better chance of assessing long-term neurological damage after the swelling improves.

Continue to check back with WWE.com as more information becomes available on the condition of Hornswoggle.

New Article

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Following JBL’s savage, brutal attack on Hornswoggle during Raw Monday night, doctors feared that he had suffered severe trauma to his spine, WWE.com has learned.

At first, specialists believed that the nature and severity of Hornswoggle’s injuries were different and focused on other potential signs of trauma. When he showed little to no movement after 6-foot-6, 290-pound JBL repeatedly rammed the 4-foot frame of Mr. McMahon’s illegitimate son into a steel cage Monday night on Raw, physicians suspected that his back may have been broken.

However, as of Thursday morning, WWE.com reporters were told that Hornswoggle’s condition has begun to show slight signs of improvement. His mobility has been limited, but doctors say he has been able to wiggle several toes.

At this time, it does not appear that Hornswoggle has incurred any long-term damage, but doctors will continue their assessment throughout the evening and into the weekend. With additional testing, specialists hope to identify a more discernible recovery time for Hornswoggle.

Check back with WWE.com as more information on the condition of Hornswoggle becomes available.

So where do people see this going, after Mania anyway?

Well it'll all culminate in some match at Mania involving Vince and hired hands and heroes all sparring for the honor of the midget whos brain is swelled up. Then it'll get taken a step too far at Backlash and after that he'll prob just get shipped back to Smackdown to be with Finlay and slowly fade into nothing before getting released

You beat me to it.

Seriously, it would not surprise me to see Hornswoggle return as an insane killer midget, and try to murder Finlay.

Althought not that extreme, I bank on him returning as a heel and siding with Vince.

I wish Finlay was facing Umaga at WrestleMania, instead of JBL, as I predict it will go. Finlay and Umaga could have had a damn sweet match, and Umaga has pretty much been Vince's hired gun for about a year, anyway.

If Hornswoggle turns on Finlay, I would mark out if Vince tries to use it as a grand psychological ploy, and Finlay then shrugs, kicks Hornswoggle in the gut and midget tosses him to oblivion. I would seriously mark out like a motherfucker.

But no, I don't expect the Hornswoggle turn. Without Finlay, Horny is pretty useless. Besides, the kids love him, so he's the perennial good guy in all of this. Finlay could theoretically turn, but then you'd need a new friend for Horny, and it seems pretty silly, when Finlay makes great sense as a protector.

The most likely outcome, in my opinion, is that Finlay will be awesome, Hornswoggle will stay a face, and the WWE will do their best to pussify Finlay, so the little kids love him, but he consequently loses his edge. But because it is Finlay, he will remain awesome and bad ass. John Cena should take notes.

I bet the bump on his head clears up what made him a midget and he has a growth spurt.

Cue "Psycho" Sid Swoggle.

That little bit about the memory loss has me a bit worried.

I will say that the beatdown on Hornswoggle had me marking out. It was about time he got what was coming to him, and JBL looked good doing it.

I know it only says 'short term memory loss', but short term is like regular term for Hornswoggle. :shifty:

Has there ever been a gimmick where someone has short term memory loss before? It seems that would be interesting for a little while on a normal wrestler. But seeing as Swog doesn't even talk, its pretty moot.

Not suprised. Poor Swog. They definitely went too far with that. JBL had enough heat as it was. Hope there won't be any permanent damage from that.

Was Hornswoggle actually legit injured? On the actual segment: I thought it was very well done. JBL was depicted like a superheel the way McMahon looked as if JBL went too far.

How long has Finlay been using Hornswoggle's theme song?

Lord-Of-Darkness

Prob since he turned face, as its more 'upbeat' or something gay like that. Finlays theme is way better than Swogs imo.

It seemed a dumb move as soon as I saw it. I wonder which rocket scientist decided a brain injury angle was appropriate in todays wrestling climate?

If I was a betting man, which I am, I'd say it was the idea of your friend, and mine. Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Who else?

Yeah, the concussion altered his mental state. Switched him from "Good" to "Evil."

Sadly, he's then going to move on to end Taker's streak. The biggest win in the history of 'Mania from the shortest main eventer ever.

That's not a gimmick. It's just...Well, sad.

The more I think about it, the more I want to see Finlay and Chris Jericho vs. JBL and Umaga at WrestleMania, with Vince McMahon managing JBL and Umaga, and possibly Donald Trump in the corner of Finlay and Jericho.

It sounds like a mess, but they all sort of connect. Finlay right now, is probably scheduled to face JBL, but let's face it, they aren't going to deliver a classic. Might as well get as many guys together as possible, and continue Chris Jericho's (somewhat) resolved feud with JBL. Jericho can step up and support Finlay in his fight against Vince, which will hopefully help both guys get over more. Finlay can be the more serious of the duo, while Chris Jericho can make midget jokes.

Vince McMahon probably wants to get in the ring himself this WrestleMania, but it's really smarter to have actual wrestlers do it. Umaga has been Vince's hired gun for about a year now, and he's got his weird thing with JBL going. It seems they understand each other, then turn on each other, then work together, etc. Umaga would also work extremely well with Finlay, I think.

Donald Trump being added is something completely unnecessary, but to me it seems the WWE is looking to revive the "entertainment spectacular" side of WrestleMania. Vince vs. Donald did well for last year's WrestleMania, and the same result could be extracted from this scenario, you have to believe. I'm not saying have McMahon vs. Trump overshadow the actual match, like it did last time, but continuing the billionaires' bet against each other might interest some people.

Jericho and Umaga are likely candidates for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, I believe, so this could clear them out of that match, and allow some other guys to get in.

NeanderCarl

Highly doubt Trump would bother with a second featured WrestleMania appearance, and I highly doubt WWE would waste the money bringing him in for what is basically a firmly midcard match, especially as it wouldn't generate near the same publicity as last year.
