We're back yet again, and ready to do this yet another time. RVD is on a streak and well on his way to the Better Wrestler Hall of Fame, or is he? He'll have to get threw his next opponent if he's even going to stand a chance.
today's match up:

Well since I have seen all of RVD's work and not much of Perfects earlier work, I'm gunna have to go with Van Dam.

Both are awesome, so it would be a draw if the question was "Better Sports Entertainer". But as far as better WRESTLER, Perfect will have my vote over RVD anytime. Rob relies on spots too much for my liking and perhaps its "nostalgia" but, it seems Perfect was just the better wrestler to me.

As always the definition of the word "wrestler" is up to you. For me "wrestler" is every aspect of the game. The questiokn for me is whos better at the game?

I'm going to have to go with RVD as Henning is dead and would put up very little offence.

For me it's Perfect because, well he's Perfect. He could do it all. He could a promo, he could could work ANY match type you set in front of him, he was a good face, and a GREAT heel. he was fantastic.
RVD isn't much of a talker, he not very diverse in the ring (in the sense he will wrestle a giant the same way he'd wrestle a cruiserweight,) and he was a terrible heel.
Perfect wins out easy.
Anyone have footage of him doing the Perfect Plex on Big Show in WCW?

I really like RVD, but I'm a Hennig mark, so Perfect wins this one.

For the first time RVD is going to have to play catch up if he wants to win.

Mr. Perfect
RVD relied too much on high spots, etc. Perfect was beyond solid in every aspect

I'm gonna go RVD :y:, mostly because I've seen more of his work compared to Hennig (even though from what I did see, he was awesome), and he's one of my favorites.

Has to be Mr. Perfect. When I was little, I always acted like I had his gimmick. Ahhh the childhood memories.

I love Curt but it's Van Dam for me by a nose.

As far as ability they about draw, but I have to give it to Perfect. I never marked out for anything RVD did, but I used to mark out for a Perfect-Plex delivered to a jobber. So...

Perfect has a 7 point lead. Crazy.
Would be interesting (if possible) to determine whether the "Perfect" votes are from those that watched him back in the day and the "RVD" votes are from those that never actually got to see Perfect week-in week-out and basically have only seen RVD.

Perfect. I have seen a bunch of his matches and he was just great in the ring.

Perfect is great, no doubt. I almost voted draw, but I've always been a HUUUUUGE RVD mark, and so it's hard to overcome that. Most of the years I watched Hennig wrestle, I wasn't particularly looking at things like workrate. The guy is great, no doubt, but I'll always have a rosier picture of RVD.

LOOSE CANNON!!!
RVD at the end of the day, just for his exploits with Lynn and Sabu. Try and find me a better series of matches than Lynn and RVD and I'll kiss your feet

Perfect by no contest. And this time I'm not just saying that because I hate RVD. Perfect really is one of the best.

A. Austin/Rock wasn't as physially amazing as RVD/Lynn
B. I have to say, this is where my youth shows. I haven't seen many real Mr. Perfect matches, so I went with Rob. Does anyone want to give a short list of badass Mr. Perfect matches? I'll try to get some youtubes in here.

This is the second time in a row where I'm going to vote against RVD (which makes me sad, because I really do like him).
Perfect had matches that would still hold up as awesome today, and considering that in the late 80s/early 90s just jumping off the top rope was impressive, he's one of only a handful of people who can say that. Van Dam has had some spectacular matches, and managed to stick out even when all the flippy-dippy spots of lucha libre had made it into mainstream wrestling. Still, I can go back and watch SummerSlam '91 and still get into it, while all I can do when watching Hardcore Heaven '99 is count all the spots Van Dam and Lynn botched (4).
Both of them were over like nobody's business, despite never getting the big push from Vince. Both knew how to work their crowds in their own way, but I'm going to have to give the edge to Perfect again. For starters, he was miles ahead of Van Dam on the mic, and the Mr. Perfect gimmick is one of those that would work in any time period. Put a pot-smoking narcissist in the old-school WWF, and there's no way he'd ever get over. Perfect was just one of those timeless heel gimmicks, and Hennig played it to a T.
Also, Hennig was a lot more consistent. When he was good, he was great, and when he was bad, he was still pretty good.
