Using the same type of gameplay as the Battlefield series. That would be awesome.
Nostalgia trippinnnnn

As long as I can use Sgt. Slaughter and put people in the Cobra Clutch.
With the GI Joe movie coming out, there will be one, but it'll obviously be based on the movie.
Knowing the industry, they'll just adapt Army Men for GI Joe.

Has to be old school G.I. Joe tho. None of that nineties crap where they were all bright neon colors.

They made a CCG out of the GI Joe series.
I have no idea why you'd want to see a piece of your childhood horrifically mutulated like that, but whatever.

Theres only been like 3 video games ever. 2 crappy nintendo games, and a kick ass but really dated arcade game.
We're due for some new shit.
It'll likely be a steaming pile of new shit.

I've never heard of any of those video games. Seriously.
So what was the Arcade game like? Just idly curious.
From Wikipedia:
There were several video game adaptations of G.I. Joe; some are Cobra Strike by Parker Brothers for the Atari 2600 and Intellivision (1983), G.I. Joe by Epyx for the Apple II and the Commodore 64 (1984), G.I. Joe by Taxan for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1991), Action Force by Virgin Games for the Commodore 64 (1987), G.I. Joe by Konami for arcades (1992) and G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1992). [2]

I vaguely remember seeing it, though I never actually played it.

The gameplay was just like the second level in contra where you are in third person and constantly running forward. Had decent graphics for the time, but the awesome thing was all the enemies and characters and vehicles they threw in there. Playing it was a major nostalgia trip. You can prolly find the rom pretty easy I imagine
If you were ever into gi joe as a kid i'd look it up.

Yeah I know there was shit before nintendo, but none of that counts. Nothing before nintendo ever counts. Thats the rule.
So what, Pacman never existed?

Not if they followed the battlefield path. Anyways, everyone rips it off and EA doesn't seem to care. Made possibly the best star wars game ever, why wouldn't it work for gi joe?
Because they probably WOULDN'T go that path.
It's possible they would, but they'll probably just pump out whatever shit they can that's the fastest and most cost-effective.
I'm not saying the game COULDN'T be good, just saying it's improbable when you look at 98% of all movie-based games.

It existed; it was clearly on Nintendo.

So it's basically a third person rail shooter, then.

I've only played one of the NES games. From what I remember it was ass. My friend and I rented it a couple of times because Snake Eyes was in it.

Oh, I totally agree that the likelihood is small. Just saying it would be perfect for gi joe.
Hell I'd even settle for a fan made full conversion mod of battlefield 2142.
I'm honestly surprised that no one has brought out ANY Joe mods for any games, actually.
Edit: Actually, apparently someone did for Battlefield 1942.

Battlefield is a FPS game largely reliant on thigns like cover, isn't it? I can't think of a genre any less appropriate for GI Joe....Well, there's Turn Based Strategy, but that's about it
Even if that were true (and I won't pretend to know anything about GI Joe) it's still the route they'll go anyway just because FPS games sell.

Nah, it's reliant on epic scale battles. You basicly have anywhere between 8 and 32 people on a team(although its really made for the latter), and the objective is to capture control points on the map. The maps are Huge. Huge enough where there are a ton of vehicles to use, from tanks to fighter jets.
I don't know where you got the cover thing from. I mean yes, all FPS games utulize cover in some form, but it's certainly not the basis of the game like Gears of War or Time Crisis.

I actually have a hard time seeing them spending money on a franchise like GI Joe and then not putting characters like Snake Eyes on the screen to be seen.
