Hey everyone, I am sure this has been done before but, do any of you guys have a favorite Mortal Kombat game? My favorite would have to be Mortal Kombat II because I feel they made every thing much better in it than in the rest of the series. I mean they put more characters, more fatalities, better graphics
Thoughts?

MK 2 or MK Trilogy

Played the shit out of Deadly Alliance. MK Armageddon was dissapointing. Mostly because of the new fataility system. Hopefully in the next gen ones coming out they do away with that shit and go back to the old school 1 or 2 fatalities per fighter.

It's a toss-up between MK 2 or Deadly Alliance for me.

2 was good because I think it was the most complete package out of everything (1, 3, Trilogy, etc.) Deadly Alliance was good because it was the first to real step into the 3D realm and it was a good fighter overall that kept the feeling of the series.

I hated when they added a run button.

In retrospect, mortal kombat was a pretty bad fighter.

All around, MK2 was the best of the series. It had just the right amount of extras and stuff without going overboard like 3.

Shaolin Monks was a hell of a lot of fun, though. That's definitely a close second.

I can only assume. Midway (and Ed Boon for that matter) doesn't really have anything else worth making a countdown over.

Isn't Scorpion going to the only returning charector?

Wouldn't know. But given the rush of fighting games this year, they should worry less about characters and more about gameplay.

I used to say UMK3, but having dl'ed that on XBLA and remembering how broken the AI is makes me change my mind. Def MK Trilogy

Yeah, they aren't very good at it anyway.

What MK game has had truly deep gameplay anyways?. In the early games, all the characters played the same outside of their special moves. Which often were just cosmetic changes of the same move.

And in the recent games, the differences in the fighting styles are too subtle. Everyone for the most part still plays relatively the same.
