I've always loved this game. It has an awesome party interface which makes upgrading easy (best fit option) among other things.

The story is top notch.

Gameplay is brilliant

However, I have never passed the game. I always get to a certain point and either lose and just kinda get burned out or soemthing happens and I have to start over.

I was just wondering one question.

I know random battle monsters level up along with your characters. I was wondering if it was the same with story battles?

To make training a little more worth it. I have tried to notice if it is (just started by using my CD in an emulator) but havent noticed anything yet.

Anyone know for sure?

Plus... list your party tips to make overpowered characters if you want also.

Probably my favorite game of all time. I haven't played it in many years but I remember using a PS1 Emulator and a trainer at the beginning and I think the main characters you fight either stay the same or have a certain limit but the monsters that are with them should be the same level as you. I could be wrong as it's been over 5 years since I last played. I really wish they would make another game like it. It doesn't have to be a sequel but would be nice.

Ya pretty sure they do. Maybe random characters in story battles are taken from an average of all the characters in your party or something, dont really remember.

Also if you wanna dominate with Ramza get into a random fight Mandalia Plains or something and get it down to just Ramza vs one opponent who is almost dead and then YELL your heart out cos that makes him get +1 speed for each turn, and you get a lot of experience for that. thats really helpful in the one on one battle against Wiegraf just yell a lot and then use accumulate like woah to get mad strength, then knock that sucker out

Red chocobos are also quite a nice addition to your party.

Best Final Fantasy game. Orlandu makes the game way too easy though.
