Better than Bret for me, as a wrestler.

What do you think?

I found him more entertaining as he developed more as a character over the years

Blue Blazer
High Energy
Member ot Hart Foundation
The ‘Slammie Award Winning’ Owen Hart
The Black Hart
Nation of Domination Hart
Tagging with Jeff
Then back to the Blazer

Owen also changed up his high flying with his tech stuff

Bret in retrospect has always just been a wrestlers’ wrestler. His style never changed and he was always the same character

As a pure ring technition Bret came off stronger, but as a total package I personally found Owen more entertaining, but Bret was more marketable because of the time they put into him

I think he was about Bret's equal as far as in-ring skill goes, but he had much more charisma.

Holy shit, do not drink white sambuca and try to spell Owern Hart.

Not a Hart fan, regardless of first names.

There was something about Owen that was likeable. I don't suppose you could ever call him truly main-event but he was at that level where you could accept him being there. Thinking more recently, the same could be said about someone like Christian.

Bret shades it for me though.

Yeah, I didn't get into wrestling until a few months before Owen died and when I looked back into wrestling history I was confused as to why Owen didn't ever main event.

They're completely equal if I'm to judge.

Nobody asked if you were a fan did they?

Owen had a better overall package than Bret, IMO. He was a good technical wrestler, he was a good high flyer, he could do it all. And he could work face and heel, which is something than Bret couldn't do as effectively. Yeah he had some runs as heel, but he never really pulled it off like Owen did. I think it's a shame that Owen never had a good run as a main-eventer. Hell, there's been a lot worse at the top.

None of them could fuck you up like Bruce Hart though right? Am I right?

Actually, I was going to state my opinion, and then realised I didn't really have one. It was more of an off-hand introspective comment; I apologize if my rhetoric offended you. Then again, if you like, we can play this game:

Bret was boring, but Owen looked a lot like Michael Douglas. So it's a toss-up. :p

Nah, Bret was the much better face, Owen a much more comfortable heel.

Both are amazing.

You didn't offend me.

Michael Douglas? Hmmm yeah I can see it a little.

The real question is, did Owen Hart ever draw a dime?

Rob

On top with Bret, yes. In Japan and Mexico, maybe. Otherwise, probably not.

In Canada he drew hundred dollar bills.

In Canada he drew puppies and rainbows during quiet time in the 4th grade.

A few years older, and right place/right time, Owen could have been in Bret's shoes. No disrespect to Bret. Bret was a great technical guy, more so than Owen, but the younger Hart was more well versed in other styles. More well rounded. Bret was a better face though.

What happened to Owen was a real shame. All accounts paint him as a genuinely nice and funny guy.

And there was real potential in The New Foundation too. The only New Foundation match I ever saw was vs The Orient Express at Royal Rumble '92 and it was a blinder.

Meh, never had a problem with the guy. Great wrestler, great heel.

Speaking of Owen, what was his last match? Not counting the one he died before.

With Jarrett vs Venis and the Godfather the RAW before I think

I remember hearing Edge do an interview where he talked about wrestling Owen in his last match at some house show before the PPV.

BTW, I find Bret Hart's work in the WWF a lot better to watch than Owen's... however, if Owen Hart worked the same way in he did in Japan in the WWF it would be very close.

Man, Jarrett and Hart were a fucking sweet tagteam.

Why isn't he being put forward for Hall of Fame?

NeanderCarl
03-13-2008, 08:04 PM
Probably because none of his family would show up to induct him, as they hold the WWF responsible for his death, and successfully sued them for millions in the early 2000s.

The only person close to Owen who would maybe get involved is Bret.

Owen's widow refuse to do anything that involve the WWE and the Hart family.

Didn't WWE settled the case out of court? I'm sure Bret has said that in a shoot interview

NeanderCarl

Most likely. To me, that's successfully suing them. If they thought they had a defence, they wouldn't have settled.

I wouldn't want anyone other than Bret or his wife Martha to represent him anyway.

Bret might. Martha = no chance in hell.

Rob

There is actually more chance of an ice cube not melting in hell than Martha Hart at the Hall of Fame.
